Itinerary
Visit to the beautiful and historic town of Sintra, a UNESCO world heritage site. Discover the picturesque streets, the Sintra National Palace, the fountains, the churches, chapels and shrines.
The next stop is Quinta da Regaleira, one of the most amazing monuments of Sintra. This place is one of the most startling, magical and mysterious of the area. We will explore its tunnels, mazes and its riddles and symbols that remind us of the mythology, of Olympus, Virgil, Dante, Camões and of the Knights Templar of the Order of Christ. This experience includes a fabulous lunch at Quinta da Regaleira's restaurant.
A stop at a special place where you'll learn about the history of wine and taste the best regional wines.
Next, discover the most westerly point of continental Europe. From the cliff tops, enjoy the fantastic view of the beaches and the sea. From the road near the coast, you can gaze at the beaches and the beautiful towns of Estoril and Cascais.
On the way back, we will have the chance to enjoy this unique beach with its famous dunes. A real sanctuary for surf, windsurf and kitesurf.
And of course we can’t leave without visiting the charming town of Cascais. This former fishing village used to be a royal getaway. Nowadays it still is one of the most attractive destinations for the Portuguese and foreign elite thanks to all that it has to offer: boutiques, restaurants, hotels, beaches and much more.

The tour with Jose was amazing. Well worth it. Not only were the places unbelievable, but the way Jose coordinated our lunch and wine tasting with the locals was off the charts. Jose was fantastic and fun! Highly recommend.
We had such a great time! Even though the weather wasn’t the best, this trip was totally worth it. Our driver, Jose, knew exactly how to make sure our day was spent exploring the area in the best way possible even though it was raining quite a bit and we were unable to visit Pena Palace because of the business strikes currently happening. He was very knowledgeable of the area and very passionate. Bring proper walking shoes and a light jacket to prepare for any type of climate.
Miguel was a delight to be our guide. Informative friendly and a safe driver. Was a wonderful day. Would recommend highly
What a wonderful day! Jose was a very accommodating and informative guide. He took every effort to make sure our day was unique and memorable. 100% would recommend.
Jose was THE BEST! We had a full day, and it was wonderful! Jose is so knowledgeable about many subjects, and his commentary made our excursion even better. He went above and beyond, making dinner reservations for us and dropping us at the restaurant. He even took our purchases of the day back to our hotel after he dropped us off, so we wouldn't have to carry them into the restaurant. We all agreed that we had never had such a fun and full excursion!
We really wanted a tour that included Sintra, Peña Palace, Cabo de Roca and Quinta de Regaleira. Our tour guide, Fernando was fantastic and flexible in taking us to see what we wanted to see. He did a great job explaining the Masonic rituals at Quinta de Regaleira and kept us laughing the whole time. Lunch at the Regaleira is prefixed, with many different menu combinations that you choose before hand and was great. We skipped the wine tasting, Estoril and Cascais, so we could spend more time at the spectacular Peña Palace.
We had the most amazing day with our guide Josè, he took us to amazing locations, gave fantastic recommendations, and we fell more in love with Portugal. The entire day was amazing, from the views, wine tasting, Sintra, and the conversation. Josè was so knowledgeable about everything and we learned so much. We can’t wait to come back and do more tours with him!
We did the private Sintra tour and it was absolutely amazing! Our guide José was extremely knowledgeable, conversational, and worked to ensure we had an amazing time. We saw so much and really enjoyed our time with him! I would recommend this tour, and him, to anyone looking for a guide around Lisbon! He gave us great advice on other places to see and places to eat as well!
I booked this tour as part of our trip to celebrate our anniversary. I would say this turned out to be one of our favorite destinations in Portugal. We were very fortunate to have Manuel as our driver for the day. His knowledge and understanding during the tour was exceptional. We both felt that the effort he put into being our private tour guide was over the top. He was not in a hurry to rush us at any venue. Manuel took the time to show us things that most tourists were bypassing. These hidden areas made our experience one we will not forget. This was a action pack tour which provided everything we had hoped for and more. I would recommend utilizing Lisbon on wheels if you want to to explore Sintra and area. We actually liked it so much we went back to Sintra on own and ran into Manuel. He was just as friendly even though he was no longer our guide for the day!
Thank you so much for your kind review about your your with us and Manuel! We are very proud to have such friendly and great drivers! We wish you happy travels! Kindest regards, Filipa Amorim
This was just a perfect way for us to see Sintra. It's a terrific value for an all day private tour customized to your goals. To give you a tip, since there are so many options on tour choices. The key thing to do is look for the primary site you want to see. That will be the site that you spend most of your time with and you can work out your focus on other sites with your guide. Speaking of your guide, in our case we had Jose Ribeiro and he really makes the trip. Knowledgable and extremely friendly we had a fantastic time and he worked the entire tour dynamically around us to let us spend as long as we wanted on all the things we cared about. We were able to message whenever we finished seeing a site or extend our time for lunch when we ended up spending way too long at a wine shop. Its important to note that with the numerous sights listed you can't really go walking around them all since it would be impossible with the time restrictions. I'd recommend working with them to make sure and prioritize the sites you want to see. We got to see everything listed but some sites are just photo stops since you can't possibly manage to go to all of them unless you want to not enjoy any. The wine tasting at the winery was a particulary nice stop and we really enjoyed getting to try some unique and rare wines. The region and type of wine in the sandy soil in particular is like nothing we've had before. Getting to travel back all along the coast and see all the beaches and seaside towns was also excellent. Jose stayed with us and took us to out of his way to let us see viewpoints on the way back to the hotel as well. Talking with him throughout the tour and getting all the great information during the tour made it fantastically informative and entertaining throughout. It was the perfect ending to our Portugal trip and we were so happy to spend our time and get to see all these sites with such a fantastic guide.
