Led by either the holder of a PhD in Scottish history or a guide with decades of experience providing historic tours in Scotland’s capital, this 90-minute tour is a fascinating journey through Edinburgh’s celebrated Old Town. Revel in the majesty of the famous Royal Mile with its stunning architecture, but also visit the secluded closes and courts lying just off the High Street and discover their dramatic stories. Find out about the world famous poets, novelists, philosophers and inventors who called this neighbourhood home but also the notorious thieves, murderers and bodysnatchers who stalked the streets after dark. The tour includes a trip through Canongate Kirkyard and a visit to our underground vaults below South Bridge, where you will find out how it came to be and who used to live there.

Our guide was excellent and full of interesting information about the underground’s of Edinburgh. My complaint is that the group was too large for the spaces in which she took us. It was difficult to hear (and breathe at times). This tour should be limited to 15 people.
There is alot of walking. Quick pace and steps involved. Bit claustrophobic underground. Interesting stories from our very experienced guide
absolutely fabulous! Robbie Dicks made it an experience!
Great tour Aurora was very knowledgeable and really made the tour.
Aurora was an amazingly knowledgeable guide and clearly passionate about the history of the city. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and quite honestly could have spent hours listening to her speak about the local history. Would highly recommend this tour. Thanks for such a wonderful experience
Fabulous tour with Aurora, she is enthusiastic and informative. Loved the historical details of buildings we saw and it was fascinating to learn of the activities under the south bridge. Absolutely recommend this tour. Thank you
Wonderful tour with Aurora, she was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Found out so much about Edinburgh that we otherwise would never have discovered. Her enthusiasm was infectious and it was so lovely to hear the history from someone that is so obviously passionate about it. It took an hour and a half and it was completely worth the money. Highly recommeneded
Our guide Aurora (Aurore?) was AMAZING. She brought a depth of boundless historical knowledge, excitement for the subject and storytelling very hard to find in a historical tour. She was funny, patient and understood pacing perfectly. Could not recommend more strongly!
Fantastic tour! Aurore (French guide) was PHENOMENAL, and her knowledge on the history of Edinburgh, it's people, and surroundings was OUTSTANDING. Highly recommend 100%
We have just finished this walking tour with Auronz and loved it. Auronz is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate and really good at giving a lot of information in an engaging way. Definitely recommend!
