An introduction to the history, process, and tasting of our national drink - whisky - all done in 90 minutes in a unique underground space, recently uncovered, in the heart of the Old Town of Edinburgh. You will have exclusive access to this historical site, taste whiskies from each of the major whisky regions and hear some of the stories about how whisky came to have such a crucial role in our nations history.

We had a wonderful 90-minute underground whisky tasting in Edinburgh! We loved the experience of going underground, and the tasting room was very comfortable. Our presenter, Hayley, was incredibly knowledgeable about the whiskies and shared some fascinating stories about Scotland. The whisky tasting was beautifully presented and very enjoyable. As a special treat on our way out, Hayley played the bagpipes for us, which was the perfect way to end a fantastic tour. Highly recommend!

We had Haley on our tour and she was excellent! They are very knowledgeable about everything about Scotch, and very funny! Definitely the highlight of our trip to Edinburgh so far. If you’re a fan of whisky, or even willing to try something new, you should take the tour!

A hidden gem and a truly unique experience in an underground setting. Our hostess was incredibly knowledgeable about the whiskies, explaining the distillation process as well as the different regions each one came from. As it turned out, we were the only two booked on for this session, but our guide was excellent and gave us his full attention. Personal preferences were taken into account and we were given a comprehensive walk through all the main whisky regions, with a tasting for each one, as well as a potted history of the Close itself. Very interesting, enjoyable. Well recommended!

Had a nice and intimate experience. You meet outside a restaurant, and go down the stairs to an underground vault, which is famous in Edinburgh. There's the little welcome room, and then there's the tasting room. The host, Mark, was funny, knowledgeable, and very nice through the whole process. He made sure the seating set up was nice, comfortable, and accommodated everyone without crowding.

Great atmosphere in the underground vault. Good information and lovely whisky! Came away with a better appreciation of whisky and what I would consider when buying and drinking whisky in future. Very worthwhile experience. Note that some of our small group had selected the connoisseur experience and they had different whisky tasting. This was good as we were able to hear about different distilleries and other whisky.
