Underground Vaults Walking Tour in Edinburgh Old Town

Description
Journey along Edinburgh's Royal Mile hearing some of Edinburgh's darker history before visiting the infamous hidden and supposedly haunted vaults beneath the South Bridge in Edinburgh Old Town. Hear tales of how the poor and unfortunate lived in these former slums. Explore these dimly lit vaults by candlelight, once the haunt of criminals, body snatchers and witches alike, said by some to now be occupied by a few of the spirits of these inhabitants long since dead. Each vault has stories of crime, disease, death and lots more... with which your guide shall enlighten you in all the gory details! You will see a genuine witchcraft temple, recently used by a Wiccan coven and you will enter their former temple. Join us to learn why it is no longer safe for them to practice their craft in that vault. DARE you step inside the infamous stone circle?

A superficial tour which needed more historical detail to make it interesting. Filled out by wandering around before going into the vault. Depended a lot on slightly daft paranormal stories which became tiresome after a while.
I had alot of fun in this tour. It was interesting learning about the dark history of Edinburgh and venturing underground. I do wish it was longer though, it was only an hour but my tour guide Luuisa was nice and made it interesting!
Really interesting tour. Our guide was Darren. He was very knowledgeable and funny.
Our guide was great. I found it amusing that she appeared to be afraid of ghost and yet was talking about the hauntings. I wouldn’t take kids on this tour and if you are mobility challenged, there are lots of steps to climb.
Louisa was a great tour guide. She spoke clearly and loudly enough for our large group especially with all the competing noise from the Edinburgh Festival. We all caught on to her dry humor and she spun great tales for our group.
Darren was very knowledgeable and funny. We had a great time learning about the vaults and their history.
Wonderful tour and guide, Louisa, was excellent!
Our guide Stewart was brilliant, perfect amount of information and suspense to make it a very worthwhile experience.
Ally was amazing she was very kind and made me feel at ease; she was very personable and professional.
Thank you Stewart for a fun and informative tour.
