Multi-Sensory Haunted Underground Vaults Tour in Edinburgh

Was very interesting, Ash our tour guide was brilliant

This was a wonderful tour in Edinburgh. Finding the meeting spot was super easy and close to a lot of dinner spots for after. Our guide, Annabel, was truly a highlight. Many guides simply share details and stories. Annabel is a fantastic storyteller. She made the entire experience a joy. Of course, the star of the show were the spooky vaults. The lighting was good enough to see, but not so overpowering that the atmosphere was ruined. Surprisingly, one of our favorite parts of this tour is that it only lasted 90 minutes or so. A fun evening outing that left plenty of time for dinner and a pint at the pub. The admission fee was very reasonable and I felt like we got our money’s worth. Next time, I’d like to do the tour with whiskey. Overall, a fun experience for our visit to Scotland.

The tour was very interesting and Sophie was a fantastic guide. She told the stories in a really engaging way and found the perfect balance between historical seriousness and theatrical storytelling. The vaults themselves are very fascinating. However, we would have liked to hear a little more about what everyday life was like for the people who lived there in the past. Overall, definitely worth seeing and a great way to learn more about Edinburgh’s history.

A fascinating tour of Edinburgh's vaults beginning with a short walk and history of Old Edinburgh. Very atmospheric in the vaults. Didn't see any spirits on this occasion but did get to enjoy a spirit (whisky) at the end of the door, which I thought was a great touch. The tour wasnt scary so ideal for those with a nervous disposition or children but with enough ghoulish facts to keep all ages entertained. Guide knew a bit of bsl which was good for me and the headphones imteracted well with my hearing aids. Lighting is very low in places so if lip reading be near the guide. But even without hearing everything the whole event was excellent and well worth doing. Highly recommended.

Overly theatrical, silly performances and made up ghost stories that use very little of Edinburgh’s gruesome past. The vaults are actually just 4 rooms and the last half hour of your tour is spent in the museum of mundane objects. Go if you like Disney-style stories about ‘the watcher’ but not our style at all.

This was so much fun again. The guide, Bo, was amazing, good knowledge and good interaction with the group. Just the right cadence in storytelling. Will definitely be back again.

Ash was AMAZING!!! Her knowledge and delivery style of the history and her ability to entertain and captivate the group is a testament to her desire to create an authentic experience for guests. Her flair for the dramatic added an extra layer to the tour. I would recommend this tour 100%.

Ash was a seamless storyteller who also included excellent details. It was a lovely atmosphere and there was the appropriate attention given to safety. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience from beginning to end.

Our guide Sophie was amazingly talented and did a great job making a memorable experience for the whole group!
