Description
The impressive mountain scenery and the beautiful landscape of the Berchtesgadener Land will definitely fascinate you. A special bus and lift take you up to the Eagle's Nest at an altitude of 1,834m where you will be rewarded with spectacular views.
Our guide will give a comprehensive summary of the historical events and answer any questions. Afterwards, we will have a short stop in the town of Berchtesgaden.
The return journey via the German alpine road shows you the impressive valleys of Bavaria.
In the event of bad weather conditions (fog, ice, snow) which make a trip up to the Eagle's Nest impossible, we offer a longer visit in the documentation center and the town of Berchtesgaden.

We’ll meet at 8:15 a.m. at Sonnenstrasse 1, 80331 Munich. There you’ll find a tour bus marked “Mentor Reisen,” and our friendly driver and guide will welcome you as you check in.
We’ll depart at 8:30 a.m. and drive past several Munich landmarks (which the guide will explain) on our way to Eagles Nest/Obersalzberg.

Upon arrival at the Obersalzberg parking lot, please proceed with your tour guide to the departure point for the special bus.
Once your guide has picked up the skip-the-line tickets for the group, you will take the red special buses up the mountain for about 15 minutes. Upon arrival, walk through the tunnel to the original lift to go directly to the Eagle’s Nest (now a restaurant).
On a clear day, you'll have a spectacular view from there. (you are at 1834 m altitude)

After taking the shuttle bus back down to the parking lot, you will have free time until the tour bus departs for the town of Berchtesgaden.
During this time, you can have lunch at the "Berggasthof Obersalzberg" (at your own expense) or go directly to the Obersalzberg Documentation Center.
The restaurant is located in the terrace hall of the former “General Walker” hotel, making it a historic building on the Obersalzberg.

The Obersalzberg Museum traces the history of Obersalzberg as a center of power during the Nazi era. It is a very interesting exhibition that reopened in 2023 following renovation and expansion. There, you can also tour the bunker complexes from the Nazi era. Admission is included in the price of the special bus tour.

After a short drive, you’ll get off the tour bus in the center of Berchtesgaden. Our experienced tour guide will lead you on a walking tour through the town, pointing out some of the main sights and explaining the history of Berchtesgaden over the course of about 20–30 minutes. After another about 30 minutes of free time in town, all participants will meet back at the bus for the return trip.

Poor value for money
It's the most expensive trip I have been on, booked through Viator. Perhaps it's due to Munich having high prices. Then there was a 35 euro charge for the shuttle, lift and museum at the Eagles Nest site. Cash only but the ticket counters accepted cards so I'm suspicious. Perhaps the tour company buy the tickets at a big discount. The visits were OK but nothing very memorable. The commentary on the bus by the tour guide was excellent but I would have preferred less talking and more silence.

Great tour, guide was...
Great tour, guide was very knowledgeable, she gave clear directions, and was enthusiastic and friendly. Amazing views!!! We recommend doing the documentation center before lunch as in our case we spent so much time there that we didn’t have time for lunch. This was our choice and we do not regret it! Would definitely recommend your!

Bavaria Dreams!!
Exceptional guide was fun, patient, informative and kept us on schedule. The driver was crazy good on the narrow roads and crazy traffic of Germany and Austria.

So much to see!
Our guide was Cancel and our driver was Hgron. Hgron knew has route well and drove safely!
Cancel was funny and knowledgeable! Had anecdotes, knew history behind our stops.
Due to a long traffic delay our itinerary adjusted, but we still made our stops. Obersalzburg felt the most rushed. That was unavoidable. A little more time in Berchtesgarten would have been really nice. The drive to and from was beautiful with all the Bavarian countryside!

Amazing experience
Tour hosted by Cancel and Driver Agron, Cancel was very knowledgeable and delivered the history/information/sightseeing extremely professionally. On the way down from Eagle’s nest my small group had to board another bus due to the main bus being full, the tour guide on the other bus was nowhere near as engaging as Cancel was.
Agron was a smooth driver and got us to where we needed to go safely, he was a really nice guy too.
