Accademia Gallery Entrance Ticket

We would like to clarify that September is one of the busiest periods of the year in Florence, and the Accademia Gallery can be particularly crowded. The service purchased was not a “skip-the-line” ticket, but a timed-entry ticket for a reserved entrance time. Our assistants delivered the tickets on time and directed you to the dedicated line for visitors with reserved tickets, in accordance with the Gallery’s entrance procedure. Even with a timed reservation, some waiting may still occur during peak season due to security checks and the high number of visitors. We are nevertheless glad that you were able to visit the Gallery and see Michelangelo’s David.

However, please note that all visitors are required to pass through security checks, which can result in some waiting time regardless of the type of ticket. Regarding the museum itself, while Michelangelo’s David is certainly the most iconic masterpiece, the Accademia Gallery also houses an important collection of Renaissance works that many visitors find highly valuable and enriching. On that particular morning, there was a slight delay from the museum in releasing the tickets, which resulted in entry approximately 10 minutes after the reserved time. We understand this may have been inconvenient and sincerely apologize. Unfortunately, this is something that can occasionally happen during peak periods due to the high demand at the Accademia Gallery.
