We visited this workshop with a friend, just the two of us, and had such a great time! Making Japanese sweets turned out to be much easier than we expected, and it was really fun to create something that looks like a little masterpiece. Yuko prepared everything in advance, so the whole process felt clean, simple, and very relaxing. We just followed her instructions and enjoyed every step. At the end, we had matcha tea and ate the sweets we made, which was a lovely way to finish the experience. The view from the window was also beautiful — a river with blooming sakura, which made it even more special. This was one of the most pleasant experiences of our trip. Thank you so much for such a wonderful time!
Thank you so much for your lovely review! I’m really happy to hear that you and your friend had such a great time. It’s wonderful that you found making Japanese sweets easier than expected and enjoyed creating your own little masterpieces. I’m also glad you felt relaxed during the workshop—that’s exactly the kind of atmosphere I hope to create 😊 Finishing with matcha and your handmade sweets, along with the beautiful sakura view, is always special, so I’m happy you could enjoy that moment too. Thanks again for joining, and I hope to see you again someday! Yuko(^^♪
Amazing experience with Yuko-san, so wonderful to make all of the different types of mochi and can’t believe how amazing they turned out!

I had the loveliest time attending this class. Miss Yuko was incredibly attentive, and the way she performed every step of the mochi-making process with such grace, ease, and precision, was absolutely mesmerizing. It truly felt like watching edible works of art come to life. I was accompanied by my mom, who was initially a bit reluctant to participate, but she ended up enjoying the class so much. She became fully engaged, keenly taking notes and gathering tips to recreate the recipe once we return home. The class was held in a cozy, inviting room with a gorgeous view from the window. There was such warmth, care, and attention in every detail that it felt as though we had known Miss Yuko for years. We also learned fascinating history about Wagashi and its importance in various Japanese celebrations, which made the experience even more meaningful. I wholeheartedly recommend booking this activity for a memorable, enriching experience and, of course, for the little heavenly bites you get to enjoy along the way.
Thank you so much for your beautiful review. I’m truly happy to hear that you and your mom enjoyed the class together. Watching you both focus, smile, and create such lovely mochi and nerikiri made the time very special for me as well. It warmed my heart to see your mom become so engaged and take notes—I hope you’ll enjoy making them again at home. I’m also glad you felt comfortable in my home and enjoyed the view and the stories behind wagashi. Your kind words mean so much to me. Thank you again for choosing my class and for spending your precious time with me. I hope our paths will cross again someday.
Mochi making with Yuko was one of the highlights of our anniversary trip to Japan! She was kind, patient, and was able to give us some wonderful knowledge about the history of mochi and successfully helped us craft multiple beautiful and delicious desserts. The match and snack at the ned was such a lovely way to close a thoroughly enjoyable two hours. She welcome us into her home and we are so appreciative of the experience!
Thank you so much for spending part of your anniversary trip with me! It was such a pleasure welcoming you into my home and sharing the joy of making mochi together. I’m so happy to hear you enjoyed both the experience and the sweets we made. Wishing you many more wonderful anniversaries filled with happy memories! Warmly, Yuko
I could not rate this class highly enough! Yuko was a wonderful and patient teacher. She was easy to engage with and you got to create so many unique creative designs!! I had so much fun! I would encourage anyone looking for a mochi and wagashi workshop to book it! It was great to participate as a solo traveller and quite an intimate space!

Our experience with Yuko’s watch class was outstanding. Yuko was in contact with us early on to make sure that we knew how to get to her class. She greeted us at the door and treated us like family in her amazing kitchen and dining room. My daughter and I loved her class and learned so much. She explained the history of making Japanese sweets before starting the process with us. We made so many sweets. Yuko made things so straightforward and easy. Yuko prepared so well for the class that we were able to participate in the fun and instructive parts without wasting any time. We made so many beautiful sweets such as a sunflower-shaped aweet l and watermelon and pineapple mochi. Yuko is an amazing maker of wagazhi, and her refrigerator is full of her beautiful creations. The class was easy to find on public transportation, too. If you are looking for something fun and meaningful and authentically Japanese to do when you are traveling to Tokyo, go to this class.
Dear Stacey-san, Thank you so much for your wonderful and heartfelt review. I’m truly honored that you and your daughter joined my wagashi class and that you had such a meaningful and enjoyable experience. It was a pleasure welcoming you into my kitchen and sharing the traditions and techniques of Japanese sweets with you. I’m especially glad to hear that you found the class both fun and informative, and that you enjoyed making so many beautiful sweets together. Your kind words about the preparation and hospitality mean a lot to me. Thank you again for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review. I hope the memories—and perhaps the skills—you gained will stay with you for a long time. Wishing you both all the best, and you’re always welcome back anytime! Warm regards, Yuko
Wow—this was truly one of the most special experiences our family could have hoped for! Words can hardly capture the warmth, care, and attention to detail that Yuko brought to every moment of our time with her. Her hospitality went above and beyond, turning this session into an unforgettable memory for our family of five. Our kids, absolutely loved it. Yuko guided them through each step with such patience and calmness, making everything easy to follow and full of joy. Her gentle encouragement and thoughtful instruction made a lasting impression. We created a wonderful variety of traditional Japanese desserts (Wagashi)—from the colorful Sanshoku Dango (three-colored dango) to Fruit Daifuku (fruit mochi), soft and chewy Warabi Mochi, and finally ended with a perfectly whisked cup of matcha tea. It far exceeded our expectations in every way. We are so grateful to Yuko for welcoming us into her home and kitchen, for sharing her knowledge and time, and for making us feel like part of her family. It truly felt like a home away from home—and a memory we’ll treasure forever!!
Thank you so much for your heartfelt message. It truly touched me, and I feel so honored to have welcomed your wonderful family into my kitchen. Seeing your children smile and enjoy every moment filled me with happiness, and I’m so glad the class became a special memory for you all. I hope the taste of wagashi and matcha brings back warm memories of your time in Japan. Please know you will always be welcome here—like family. With gratitude, Yuko
Yuko was a very talented teacher and she explained some of the history and traditions of mochi in Japan. Her cooking studio overlooks greenery which is very beautiful. We made many different types of mochi, nerikiri and dango. Yuko spoke English well enough that we could learn without being able to speak Japanese. She also served us macha tea and we had a little tea ceremony at the end.
Thank you so much for joining my class and for your lovely review! I'm really happy to hear you enjoyed making mochi, nerikiri, and dango together. It was such a fun time, and your warm and curious energy made the class even more special. I'm also glad you liked the tea ceremony and the view from the studio. Most of all, I'm so happy to know you love mochi as much as I do! 🍡💖 Please come back anytime—I'd love to make more sweets with you again! 🌿🍵 Warmly, Yuko(^^♪
My twelve year old daughter and I took this class and loved it. Yuko speaks very clear English and gave excellent instructions. Our finished product didn't look quite as good as hers, but we were still very proud of what we made! I think this activity is well worth the time. We'll be looking for the ingredients so we can make more at home.
Thank you so much for joining the class! It was such a joy to meet you and your daughter—both of you did a wonderful job, and I loved seeing your wagashi creations! 😊 I'm so happy to hear you're planning to make more at home. If you ever need help finding ingredients or have any questions, feel free to reach out anytime. Hope to see you again someday! 💕🍡 yuko (^^♪
