It was a great evening, we really enjoyed the cooking and the friendly environment! Would return at any time!
Thank you Selina for your review. We will be waiting for your next trip in Gjirokastra :)

We meet at Cerciz Topulli square, where you join with your host and walk over to one of the oldest neighbourhoods, “Pazar i Vjeter” to meet Marjeta and her husband. We begin the class with a glass of raki or a soft drink while chatting with your group mates. The food we are going to prepare is a vegetarian menu, and under the guidance of Marjeta we will learn three dishes. The first one is called “Qofte bobollaqe” consisting mainly on yogurt, the traditional “Qifqis” found only in Gjirokaster and consisting mainly on rice and the desert called “Hasude”. All these three are accompanied by the salad of the season Marjeta has already prepared for you. After all the hard work, sit down with your group to savor each of your dishes. Pair your menu with a complimentary glass of wine, raki, or a soft drink and have a nice chat while you eat. Your cooking class will conclude after the meal. Cheers and Bon appetite!

Great food! We really enjoyed the overall experience. The chef was kind, and the lovely view made it even more special.
Thank you Nouf for your review we are happy that you enjoyed your experience with us.
What a great experience to get out into a beautiful neighborhood and learn about Albanian culture through the food! Gorgeous outdoor kitchen, lovely hosts, fun interactive activity. The vegetarian class primarily consisted of cooking with flour, oil, water, and rice but fortunately Marjeta rounded it out with a fantastic salad from her garden.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're delighted you enjoyed the experience and appreciated the beautiful setting, the hospitality, and the cultural exchange through food. Marjeta puts a lot of heart into sharing traditional recipes, and we're glad her garden-fresh salad added a special touch to the vegetarian class. We’re always working to make each experience richer and more diverse, and your feedback helps us grow. We hope to welcome you back again soon! Warm regards, The Experience Gjirokastra Team
The highlight of the experience was Marieta – she was definitely a character: joyful, cheeky, and so much fun! We were welcomed by a friendly translator who stayed with us throughout, which added to the experience. They answered all of our questions, and additional dishes accompanied what we made.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that Marjeta was the highlight of your experience – she truly is one of a kind, and her joyful spirit brings so much warmth and laughter to the kitchen! We're also glad the presence of our translator made you feel even more welcome and supported throughout. It's always a pleasure to go beyond the recipe and share a full taste of Albanian hospitality. We hope to see you again for more fun and delicious moments! Warm wishes, The Experience Gjirokastra Team
This cooking class was great! We didn’t end up going to the originally planned class, but did a class at “friends’ hostel”. The communication with the tour company was great and he even drove us to the new location (since the class was changed). We had a great time and the food was amazing! But the best part was the hospitality of the people there. We were welcomed as family and even had the dinner with the family and learned a lot about food and the community. 10/10 would recommend!
We booked the vegeterian cooking class and Teta Marjeta was incredible and funny even without speaking english. There was an english translator with us who explained everything. The cooking class was very informative, the dishes we learned are an integral part of Gjirokaster history. Also the dinner setup was so cute :) Much recommended.
I organized a surprise trip to Albania to my best friend and also this experience was a surprise to her. I thought it was a great idea of us to connect with local culture and learn something we can both bring home. Marieta was such a nice lady, she made us feel super comfortable. Also having a translator was something interesting! I highly recommend and I’m sure I would do it again!
Thank you so much for your kind words and for choosing your surprise trip to Albania! We're delighted to hear that you and your best friend had a memorable experience. Marieta and our translator are indeed invaluable members of our team, and we're thrilled they made your journey comfortable and engaging. We look forward to welcoming you back for another adventure in the future! 🌍🎉
This cooking class was a 10/10! I was alone during this class, which surely made the experience even more personal. Marjeta is very friendly, as well as Klarissa, who was there to translate my English and the Albanian of Marjeta. I learned a lot, and I came out very satisfied with this experience, with a good dinner, leftovers, and nice pictures taken by Klarissa. I completely recommend this unique experience in Gjirokaster.
Thank you for your glowing review! We're thrilled to hear that you rated the cooking class a perfect 10/10. It's wonderful that you enjoyed the personal touch of being the only participant, and Marjeta's friendliness, along with Klarissa's translation, enhanced your experience. Learning a lot, having a delicious dinner, leftovers, and great photos to remember it all by – it sounds like a fantastic day! We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to see you again for more unique experiences in Gjirokaster.
This was one of the best parts of our 2-week trip in the Balkans! The host, Marijeta is talented and charismatic. Our translator was a brilliant and funny high school student who was very skilled at translating and being in conversation. We do cooking classes in every place we visit and this one was less hands-on than others we’ve done but incredible food and a great vibe overall.
Thank you for sharing your experience! We're thrilled to hear that your visit to the Balkans and our cooking class stood out as one of the highlights of your two-week trip. Teta Marjeta, our talented and charismatic host, takes great pride in creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. We're glad you appreciated the skills of your translator, who added a brilliant and humorous touch to the conversation. While the class may have been less hands-on compared to others you've attended, we're delighted that the incredible food and overall vibrant ambiance left a lasting impression. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future for another memorable culinary adventure.
This experience feels more like a cooking demonstration than a hands on cooking class. It would be better if each person or group of 2 had their own cooking station rather than one cooking station for everyone.
