Cooking class
My friends and I were guests of Marjeta for a cooking class typical of the city of Gjirokastër.
Mrs. Marjeta was very kind and helpful.
She had us cook the dinner that we would then eat.
A very familiar and evocative experience.
Her granddaughter was also there helping her sweet grandmother and left us some bracelets she made herself.
It was a lovely moment.
If you are passing through Gjirokastër and want to eat something typical yet homemade, stop by Mrs. Marjeta's.

Stirring Fun
Wonderful experience. We cooked a delicious traditional meal not found at a restaurant. Plenty of food and wine and beverage to fill your stomach. Beautiful balcony at Marjeta’s home. Well organized and great instructions for cooking. Highly recommend.

Super fun cooking class...
Super fun cooking class at Marieta house. Cooked three local dishes with wine and on a cute veranda with local ingredients. Everyone including our translator Besi were amazing and so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend for an overall awesome experience of food, culture and a good time.

Cosy, wonderful cooking class with our Albanian grandmother!
We had a wonderful experience at Marjeta’s. She told us, she was a chef in Gjirokaster in the past, so this makes the cooking even better! Due to this cooking class, we could enjoy some traditional food from the area. We strongly recommend this!!

Lovely couple amd delicious food
The couple who leads the class is lovely! They are joined by Viki, a student who is also a tour guide for the castle, and translates the most.
The food is relaitvely simple but delicious! Luckily, we were involved in the whole process of the preparation am not just observers.
If not for a cooking class then definately a place to have lunch or dinner!

Unforgettable experience
A must do! I can’t say enough good things about this experience. We went through Trip Advisor/Experience Gjirokastra and booked this activity. The company sent a friendly, upbeat and informative guide (Vicki) to help translate. Chef Gjorca and his wife are so knowledgeable, welcoming and kind! Our guide told us he is the most respected and famous chef in Gjirokaster. He has even been visited by not one, but two Albanian presidents. Their kitchen is so humble yet they deftly crank out amazing Albanian staples! You can participate as much or little as you’d like. My mom and I love cooking so we were all in! Then you enjoy the food on the patio or in the cafe. An unforgettable experience for us. Highly recommend if you are interested in cooking or food in general.

Fun, Friendly and Delicious
We had a brilliant experience cooking with a local in his very own restaurant. Chef Gjoca has 35 years experience and we made many different dishes. All delicious with the take home recipe to be able cook at home. Really fresh ingredients with home wine to match! Our guide was there to translate and we learnt about the Albanian from from her - which we also really enjoyed. Amazing experience and one to remember - we certainly recommend this activity when visiting beautiful Gjirokastra.
