Unique walking tour Stockholm

I had a relaxing and interesting time on the Unique walking tour of Stockholm led by the very knowledgeable and friendly Tomas. When the other registrants were not able to make it relatively last minute due to stomach issues, I very much appreciated that the tour was still given for just me. This is indeed a “unique” tour as it did not focus on the commercialized tourist stops but rather gave a peek into the local life of Stockholm presently and in the past with subway rides and exploration of multiple different neighborhoods. I learned about civic protests, the origin of the phrase “Stockholm syndrome”, the Swedish alphabet, the water quality, royal history and other things. Tomas clearly has a passion for introducing Stockholm to visitors. I definitely recommend this tour.

Tomas was prompt, clear, engaging, knowledgeable, and an excellent English speaker. A 4th-gen Stockholm-native he did a fantastic tour, filled with great details (full Swedish flag flying over Palace when King is in the office, vs pennant) and fascinating things to see (subway art on all blue route stops!). Tomas led an engaging tour experience, not just informative but interactive - bringing stories and context supporting many of the facts and places of Stockholm. I would highly recommend a tour with Tomas for newcomers and returnees to this beautiful city of islands.

It is very easy to navigate around Stockholm. We met Thomas near the Opera House. We were given a unique walking tour full of interesting information about Stockholm. Thomas was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, he had some great insights into Stockholm culture and places of interest. We ventured across the city using the metro and covered a great deal in this time. Thanks Thomas for a great tour of your beautiful city.

This was just a great way to get to know the city of Stockholm and all of the major downtown areas. Way better than a tour of just the Old Town! Highly recommend this tour, year round.

Thomas is very friendly and a great guide, you can tell that he loves Stockholm. We really enjoyed our tour and the fact that Thomas took us to different areas of Stockholm, out of the standard tourist places.

I was notified that this tour was cancelled 1.5 hrs before it was about to start. Unfortunately, I only had a single day in Stockholm and was relying heavily on this tour to learn more about the city. I had to scramble to find another tour, which used up a lot of time in an already limited schedule. Thomas had a family emergency, which is very understandable, but I only wish that there were multiple tour guides so that someone else could have covered for him. Very sad that it did not work out.
