The tour is designed, depending on your wishes, by locals who enjoy the city and what it has to offer. The tour tries to give you an unique point of view to life in Gothenburg apart from the main touristic sites. Get a glimpse into life in Gothenburg by having a Swedish Fika, take ferries like locals do, and get random facts about the city.
The tour takes 90-120 minutes and the starting point can be chosen by you after booking. Want to have a morning tour? No problem! Evening stroll? Also no problem!

Awesome and Informative Tour!
This was an exceptional tour led by Jonas (apologies if the spelling is incorrect). He was incredibly informative, offering rich historical insights, practical cultural tips, and guiding us through Gothenburg’s highlights with enthusiasm and authenticity. As a true Swede, his pride in the city was evident and added a personal touch to the experience. We learned a great deal and would happily take the same tour again on a future visit.

This is the best tour!
Christina was well-informed and so friendly! We loved hearing about the history of this beautiful city. Christina was on time and had a good plan for what our interests were.

Awesome Tour
Pascal was the best. We covered the beaten path as well as favorited local gems, diving into Gothenburg’s rich history from early settlement to modern day marvel. Particularly loved Pascal’s knowledge on the alternative music scene and urban planning projects, which he tailored to our tour. Definitely recommend for a well-rounded experience on your stay. It also helps he’s easy on the eyes!

Loved Goteborg
I really enjoyed my day trip to Goteborg. What made the trip great was having a guided tour to learn about the history and culture. There are nuisances that I would not normally know unless was told by a local. I would love to visit Goteborg again. Overall a very enjoyable city to visit.

Excellent tour and recommendations
I took the tour (free walking tour) with three friends and we were all amazed, Petra was our guide and she was stunning. We were able to appreciate the city from a perspective that would have been rather impossible without a guide, Petra did a great job at making the tour interesting and entertaining despite the bad weather. We really acquired a fascinating view of the city, its history and the reasons behind each monument/building/landmark visited. Besides, she gave us some really good recommendations about other activities in the city, and places to eat, which turned out to be great experiences.
In order to summarize, we think it was a great tour, very informative and illustrating, and with an incredible guide (thank you Petra).

My favorite out of all port of calls - Goteborg
I did a private walking tour with my mom in Goteborg and I love this fascinating city. I love the Swedish Culture, Fika Time. Really cool churches, statues, stores and more. You gotta check out the Air Bee n Bee, it was so cute. I'm just fascinated with the city, how clean it is, how nice the people are, how cool the shops are - I can't wait to go back there again.

Great tour of Gothenburg
I took the General Goteborg Tour and found it to be an excellent overview of the city. I learned quite a bit about the various places we visited. Petra was the tour guide and she was friendly and knowledgeable, and she answered all of our questions. I highly recommend this company.

Guide didn't show up
We booked a free walking tour at 2pm, but the guide didn't show up! We found all other people who also booked the tour online, but no guide!

Operator response
Hej Monika,
thank you for your review. We are sorry this happened to you. Unfortunately, sometimes there are unexpected situations occuring, such as today during the afternoon tour (14th September). As you write, you have booked a spot for a free walking tour. These tours are entirely free and we do not pressure anyone to pay anything during these tours. In order to realise this, we have to schedule our resources carefully, so that we often cannot have backup-guides available to take over in cases of emergency, such as today. Our guide had a last-minute emergency and couldn't deliver the tour, which resulted in a lack of communication to you waiting at the tour spot.
We are very sorry this happened, as you obviously expected something else. Nevertheless, you are more than welcome to join us at any other occasion for one of our free tours (which we try to run 2 times a day).
Again, apologies for this happening. It's not our intention to create unhappy memories for you and do hope you have enjoyed the city nevertheless!

Tours of Gothenburg providing some personal insights from residents
We did two of the walking tours: Petra took us on the general city tour and Pascal led us on the alternative tour. The general city tour gave us a good overview of the major locations of historical and cultural interest in the city, with some special points of interest and quirky historical tales mixed in. The alternative tour took us to the other side of the river from the main city, as well as to some out-of-the-way places which you might not think to visit if you are just in the city for a few days. Both were very informative and gave us a good sense of the city, as well as some inside perspectives and tips from the tour guides who had lived there several years. They were also helpful in answering our questions and giving us some recommendations for what to see and do based on our personal interests. It is also funny that they both had credit card readers for accepting optional tips; Sweden is apparently very cash-free!

Free Walking Tour
Pascal was great. A really enjoyable and informative tour. He took the time to take questions from individuals and help people plan their onward holiday.
