Such a Special Family Experience!
We absolutely loved this experience! Our kids had so much fun creating their own Mt. Fuji designs, and we loved that each one came out completely different. They weren’t perfect, but that’s what made them so charming and personal. The teacher was incredibly patient with the kids, and now we have something handmade to take home and remember our trip to Japan. Such a unique and meaningful experience for our family!

Such a Fun and Unique Experience in Tokyo!
My girlfriend and I wanted to try something a little different during our trip and experience more of traditional Japanese culture, so we booked this workshop. Neither of us had ever heard of Maki-e before, but we ended up having such a great time!
It was a little tricky at first because the work is so delicate, but the artist was really patient and showed us everything step by step. She doesn’t speak much English, but our guide translated for us, so we could ask questions and learn more about Maki-e and Japanese culture while we worked.
We had visited Mt. Fuji earlier in our trip, which made creating our own Fuji designs even more memorable. My girlfriend was especially happy with how hers turned out — that’s the one in the photo!
We got to take our pieces home the same day, and we can actually use them too. Such a cool souvenir and a really nice memory from our trip together. Definitely recommend this if you’re looking for something a little different in Tokyo!
