Absolutely brilliant experience from start to finish

The staff at The Dungeon were amazing and so friendly and accommodating throughout our visit. They made the whole experience really easy and enjoyable for us and couldn’t have been more helpful. The experience itself was incredible. The mix of horror, humour and completely unpredictable jump scares was perfect. You genuinely never knew what was coming next, and half the time we were screaming before immediately laughing afterwards! The actors were absolutely amazing and completely committed to their characters. They made everything feel so immersive and brought the whole experience to life. The atmosphere was perfect as well, especially because we had a smaller group, which made everything feel much more personal and intense. The whole experience lasted around 90 minutes, but I don’t think 90 minutes has ever gone by so quickly. It genuinely felt like we had only just started when it was over. Absolutely brilliant experience with fantastic staff and actors.

Always a great experience at the dungeon.

We have been to these all over UK and when we had a spare morning before jumping on our train out of Edinburgh we thought we would give this one a go. As always well acted and very slickly put together. We were familiar with some scenes but others were original.

Operator response

Hello Brisbanekidz, thank you for your 5 star review! We're glad you decided to stop by before leaving Edinburgh and that we lived up to your expectations from other Dungeons! We hope to welcome you back soon!

Tour ruined by staff

Someone asked to leave the tour midway through it and the actor saw the couple out the room and the group was left alone. While they were gone a person suggested we should all ly on the floor so we would surprise the staff when they walked in, funny right? Not to them! When they walked back in they told us we have ruined the tour for everyone!!! And that it was unacceptable!!! So that bit was left unfinished and we were told to proceed to the next room. The tour continued till the last room where the manager was waiting to give us a lecture on how we stopped the person who left the tour from getting the help she needed!!! How were we preventing help to get to the person by being on a room by ourselves in silence??!! That's what I would like to be explained. That lecture was uncalled for and not aprecciated. You ruined the tour for us that's for sure!! After hearing those words could not pay attention to anyother story. It is unacceptable to be treated like this, no respect to the customers who tought funny to act like we were all dead in the cave where we had been just told to die. Didn't expexct these people to be so offended by a joke played on them. By the way, we had no idea what had happened to the people who asked to leave the tour.

Operator response

Hello Escape68446050717, We appreciate you taking the time to voice your concerns. During your tour, a guest asked to leave as their partner was unwell. The actor in the room followed the correct procedure in escorting them out and calling for assistance. The reason your group were not made aware is that our priority is the immediate welfare of the guest who in this instance required medical attention. When the response team enter the room within a minute of the individuals leaving, they were presented with what appeared to be a major medical situation with at least 5 members of the public appearing unconscious. At no point in the tour is anyone instructed to lie on the ground or play dead. The actors give clear instructions throughout the tour about where you should position yourself. The group had been loaded into the cave standing, and at this point all your prior shows had been standing as well. Not only is it a health and safety hazard to have a room of up to 26 people all lie down in a small, dark space, (blocking fire exits, acting as a trip hazard to yourselves and our staff who have to walk through the room throughout the show) it is also a hygiene concern as hundreds of people walk across that floor every day, so we did not find it funny. We are sorry that our response on the day was detrimental to your experience, however, we have policies in place to ensure the safe enjoyment of all guests when visiting and to provide a safe working environment for our staff. On this occasion this was impacted by the independent decision of guests to behave in a way which contravene these policies. We continue to review our policies and procedures around required responses during tours, and thank you for your feedback.

Good, but some disappointment

It was fun, and the staff are great; however with the final ride being out of action, this was disappointing. Could the maintenance not have been done before the summer?

Sorry to hear that you were disappointed about the Drop Ride being out of action. Excellent and great fun

Great fun. Actors were brilliant. There were some issues with the tickets we bought. I’m not sure why or what but the lady on reception dealt with it very professionally ( I think it was a computer issue as we had booked via blue light ). And we were in without a fuss !!

Operator response

Hello L3766OErichardm, thank you for your 5 star review! We're glad to hear you enjoyed your time with us at the Edinburgh Dungeon and that our staff got the tickets sorted for you in a timely manner! We hope to welcome you back soon!
