Our Tour takes us through the Ramsar convention Walvisbay lagune wetlands where up to 250 000 and 54 species of birds can be seen from time: Pelicans, Flamingos, Plovers, Sandpipers and other endemic Birds can be seen. We drop our tyre air pressure and discuss the many birds
Our journey begins in Walvis Bay, passing the lagoon wetlands where thousands of pink flamingos gather in the afternoon light. We continue past the impressive salt pans before heading south along the beach to Sandwich Harbour, where towering dunes meet the Atlantic Ocean. As the sun begins to set, the landscape transforms into golden hues. Watch waves carve into the dunes at high tide, sometimes making access a true adventure. Enjoy an exhilarating dune drive over rolling sands to a breathtaking viewpoint, perfectly timed for sunset. Take in endless views of desert meeting sea, with the sky painted in warm colours and a peaceful, untouched atmosphere. Our knowledgeable guides share insights into the unique desert ecosystem and its wildlife. We end the experience with a relaxing sundowner stop, making this a truly unforgettable Namibian highlight.

Pickup Locations & Times
We pick up from any Hotel , Pension or Bed & Breakfast along the Coast between Swakopmund and Walfishbay we also pick up at Walvisbay Harbor and Airport. Please advise arrival times. On an afternoon tour we also pick up after your other activity , like Catamaran seal cruise or after Kayaking. We start in Swakopmund .and pick up in Walvisbay 30 minutes later than advertised. Please take note all cruise liner passengers. We stand in the port after the first gate with a Gazebo that has our logo on. Please note your guide will also stand with a name board. please note all Cruise Liner passengers, your tour pick up time starts an hour after you have docked. The tour will depart latest an hour and a half after the pick up time. Late comers are considered a no show

- Please note due to the scarcity of German guides we cannot guarantee a German speaking guide, in peak season or when a cruise liner is in the Harbour and 2000guests disembark.
- This experience is seldom cancelled due to bad weather, it does not rain here but we have strong desert winds sometime. If it is cancelled due to bad weather, it might be rescheduled to a new time, or another date, or a full refund.
- This experience requires a Minimum number of 2 participants, if this is cancelled because minimum is not met then you will be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.
- This tour can be upgraded to include Champagne, oysters and Sushi, please advise us of your special occasion or if you want a high end tour.
- This tour can be chosen as a Private Tour, minimum 1 person maximum 6 pervehicle please select under Private Tour.
- German speaking guides are very scarce. These will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
- We reserve the right to change the route, weather, tide or safety permitting.

Had a fabulous afternoon riding the dunes with Riaan. He was very chatty and knowledgeable on a whole raft of local topics which made for fun conversations. The sea prevented us from getting to the end of the beach so we went inland instead and had a blast. I leaned a lot, laughed hard and thoroughly enjoyed my outing. Would recommend to others.
The sunset at Sandwich Harbour is an absolute must-see; it was easily one of the highlights of our trip through Namibia. We did have some complications with our booking, which unfortunately meant we had to wait quite a bit longer than expected before starting our tour. That said, AJ was incredibly helpful, attentive, and proactive in sorting everything out, which really helped ease our frustration and made sure the rest of the experience went smoothly. And Leclue is simply the best guide you could possibly ask for to take you through the dunes. He is incredibly knowledgeable - not only about the desert habitat and wildlife, but about Namibia more broadly - and he was funny, warm, and genuinely wonderful company throughout the day. You can tell that he knows the dunes inside out, and his enthusiasm made the experience even more memorable. At the end of the day, it was definitely worth it. I’d just recommend double-, triple-checking your booking with the agency at least a day in advance to avoid any unnecessary delays.

We just got back from an amazing sunset tour to sandwich harbour. Our family of five split up in two cars with two guides, Riaan and LeClue. We got picked up at our hotel and we drove by the saltwater pans and flamingos before heading into the dunes. Riaan is an experienced guide and driver and made us feel safe and the whole tour a lot of fun. We were lucky with the weather and it felt like we had the dunes to ourselves. As a photographer I wanted to go for the sunset tour and we were lucky to get the perfect sunset. They set up a delicious picknick with cold drinks and snacks. It was the little details that made this tour special. The music, the extra fun in the dunes, the digging for water in the desert, the namibian flag they brought for photos. I will treasure this day and the little souvenir Riaad gave me for my treasure box at home. Thank you for an unforgettable experience.
