Our journey takes us through Walvis Bay, lagune wetlands where thousands of pink Flamingos can be seen, past the enormous Salt Mine harvesting 100000 tons per month, south along the beach to Sandwich Harbor where the Dune belt meets the sea . See the waves carve away the dunes at high tide where it sometimes becomes impossible to enter this beautiful and remote area. We go on a roller coaster dune ride up to the view point with absolute surprise to see the stunning views and the quiet desert ambiance. The huge sea of sand , the dunes, have that special kind of magic ...absolutely unique. Our knowledgeable guides will tell you about the desert area and skillfully drive you to the best spots. Adrenaline soaked dune drives , searching for animals in this desolate area , learn how the plants and animals have evolved to live in the desert.

Sandwich Harbour Tour
The Sandwich Harbour tour was simply spectacular! The backdrop of gigantic dunes and the Atlantic is unique.
A huge thank you to our guide Winton – he made the tour perfect! He drove masterfully through the dunes, was super likable, and accompanied us with great information and a lot of humor. From the driving skills to the snack in the dunes, everything was perfectly organized.
Anyone who is here must do this tour. If you get Winton as a guide: absolutely unbeatable!

The highlight of our Namibian trip
A truly unforgettable experience. Our guide, Andrew, was fantastic. He was a great host to the area, knows his stuff, is personable, knowledgeable and kept us entertained and safe in the magnificent dunes of Sandwich Harbour. Would highly recommend this trip to anyone.

Incredible Tour with Guide Volker
We can highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Swakopmund, who wants to learn more about the history and nature of the region. Our guide Volker grew up in Swakopmund and really knows this area. He shared so many interesting stories about the history, wildlife, and the region in general. We had a great time and learned a lot along the way. Definitely a tour we would recommend to anyone visiting Swakopmund!

Don’t use Viator / TripAdvisor they overcharge
Loved the tour company Desert Dunes & Dust. Our guide Hannes was amazing and we had such a great day! We should have booked with them directly, and cut out Viator / TripAdvisor as they offered 30% off but in the end would only give $30. Scam and their customer service has been horrible.

Great Ludwig.
Great Ludwig, super guide. We booked at 10 in the evening and he contacted us immediately to arrange the pickup at our accommodation. Even though it wasn't a very clear day, he did his best to ensure we enjoyed a complete tour of Sandwich Harbour. It's fantastic in a 4x4 on the dunes; it was an unforgettable day. Absolutely recommended.
