Itinerary
Our first stop is at the Flamingos in the Walvis Bay lagune, we learn about them, why they are pink and about their habitat, then we drive past the enormous salt works and see the pink salt lakes. Further in the Lagune , which is a Ramsar site, we see the many waders and palearctic sea birds. The route takes us along the shore, past windswept dunes, seals and black backed Jackals, and harsh salt pans to where the Dunes meet the Ocean. .
The route along the shore takes us past wind swept dunes, black backed Jackals, seals and an array of sea birds. We see salt pans and vast open spaces, often with nobody in sight, and the dune belt that comes closer and closer, until it meets the sea. Entry into Sandwich harbour is often difficult and tide dependent, its Unique, its beautiful. Towering dunes on the left sea on the right. A rollercoaster ride takes us up to the high dunes and spectacular view point. The ambience is quiet and relaxed, its majestic and vast. We then go on an exhilarating dune ride and game drive, searching for what life the desert has to show, from the tiny shovelnose lizard, dancing on the hot dunes, to the ever hardened Oryx struggling to survive these harsh conditions. Sadly our exciting tour ends back in Walvis Bay and we drop you off where we picked you up, at the guest house or the Harbor as arranged. This will be one of you most memorable tours you can go on. We constantly hear 'Sandwich Harbor is the most beautiful place I've seen,' or 'this was one of my best tours ever'. Come along and see for yourself. Sandwich Harbor most definitely a Namibia highlight. We need at least 2 people to start the tour.

Pickup Locations & Times
We collect all guests at their Accommodation, in Walvis bay and along the coast to Swakopmund . We first pick up in Swakopmund and then Walvisbay about 40 min later. Walvis bay harbour /Port for Cruise liner Guests and Walvis Bay Airport Cruise liner guests are met at the harbour, at the time they dock, with a name board. please note all Cruise Liner passengers, your tour pick up time starts an hour after you have docked. The tour will depart latest an hour and a half after the pick up time. Late comers are considered a no show All cruise liner passengers: Please look out for our gazebo with the name Desert Dunes and Dust Tours on as you exit the cruise liner. Please note Sandwich Harbour tours is a sister company of Desert Dunes and Dust Tours

- We need two people to start the tour. A private tour an be arranged please contact us.
- Please advise your dietary requirements when making the tour.
- Please contact us the night before to confirm tour details by mail or what's app
- We collect our guests in the Harbour where your Ship docks with a name board with your name on it. We also have a tear drop Flag so we are easy to find
- Our pick up times are scheduled around your arrival times. We will always uphold our bookings no matter what time the ship arrives.
- Please note German guides are limited and we do not have the capacity to give everyone a German guide, These will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. Please note we can not guarantee a German guide on every tour!!
- Should berthing times of The Cruise Liner change we will still be waiting for you had the Harbour
- Ideally we want to leave the harbor as soon as possible. Please disembark to meet your booking departure time so not to uphold other guests in teh vehicle iwth you
- Private can be arranged. Unfortunately, the other seats in the vehicle must be paid, so a minimum of 4 pax must be paid. Please contact us directly or by mail. Thank you

Wow! So much praise for the company and especially for Leclue, our guide. He was super enthusiastic and always slipped in a joke here and there between explaining nature. We went with Leclue and another Taiwanese couple who were quite upset because they had booked a different time, but since the day was full of unexpected events, they ended up going with us. They waited almost 3 hours to start the tour, and Leclue, I believe, managed to change their review from bad to at least so-so. From our side, everything was perfect. We absolutely loved Leclue. Please always stay so enthusiastic, with jokes and explanations of everything. The view for the sundowner is just perfect! We also had a “feeling” of no gravity fun with him on the dunes! All perfect. Also thanks for the awesome Taiwanese couple! Hope we may see each other again!

Cool experience but too expensive. But our guide Jonny was great and we felt very comfortable although the route was very challenging.

Our experience was better than expected. We were a catalan family of 4 members ((two adults and two children), and we spent a fantastic half day. Our driver, Volker, was the best we can got. We learnt a lot about Namibia, its history and its people. We felt safe with Volkwr driving and we got a fantastic views. I want also give a great review of the lunch. I strongly recommend rhe experience.

We had an incredible experience with Riian on our 4x4 tour from Swakopmund to Sandwich Harbour. From the very beginning, we felt completely safe and in great hands. Riian was an excellent guide: friendly, engaging and knowledgeable, always happy to explain the ecosystem, wildlife and history of the area. The whole day was full of different experiences, from seeing the flamingos in the lagoon and learning about the salt works to the unforgettable drive between the ocean and the dunes of Sandwich Harbour. The scenary was spectacular and the 4x4 experience itself was one of the highlights of our trip in Namibia. We had a lot of fun throughout the day, and Riian’s personality made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

A really fun half day trip, incredible landscape and impressive 4 wheel snas dune driving. Thank you Gerhard for looking after us so well and all your explanations. It's an expensive trip because of the National Park admission fee but it's worth it. Some nice food and drinks provided on the beach on the way back.

Wow! What an experience. We signed up a few days before, not knowing what to expect, and not understanding the epicness of what was about to happen. We got picked up on what we thought was a normal clear and calm day. Our driver, Ferdie, was non-chalantly the best driver in Namibia. You'd never have known it until he started crushing the dunes - he told us stories, and a was a great host as we drifted along the sand - the Atlantic Ocean on one side, towering dunes on the other - and an almost total absence of fog and wind. When we learned the next day that fog and wind are common - we realized even more how lucky we had been. And now, at home, going back through our experiences from this trip - it's unbelievable to me what was experienced here. You must do this tour if you're visiting, and don't reuqest to hire Ferdie - he's the oldest driver, but also the best. Thank you so much for this special experience you created for my wife and I.
