Our first stop is at the Flamingos in the Walvis Bay lagune, we learn about them, why they are pink and about their habitat, then we drive past the enormous salt works and see the pink salt lakes. Further in the Lagune , which is a Ramsar site, we see the many waders and palearctic sea birds. The route takes us along the shore, past windswept dunes, seals and black backed Jackals, and harsh salt pans to where the Dunes meet the Ocean. .
The route along the shore takes us past wind swept dunes, black backed Jackals, seals and an array of sea birds. We see salt pans and vast open spaces, often with nobody in sight, and the dune belt that comes closer and closer, until it meets the sea. Entry into Sandwich harbour is often difficult and tide dependent, its Unique, its beautiful. Towering dunes on the left sea on the right. A rollercoaster ride takes us up to the high dunes and spectacular view point. The ambience is quiet and relaxed, its majestic and vast. We then go on an exhilarating dune ride and game drive, searching for what life the desert has to show, from the tiny shovelnose lizard, dancing on the hot dunes, to the ever hardened Oryx struggling to survive these harsh conditions. Sadly our exciting tour ends back in Walvis Bay and we drop you off where we picked you up, at the guest house or the Harbor as arranged. This will be one of you most memorable tours you can go on. We constantly hear 'Sandwich Harbor is the most beautiful place I've seen,' or 'this was one of my best tours ever'. Come along and see for yourself. Sandwich Harbor most definitely a Namibia highlight. We need at least 2 people to start the tour.

The tour will depart latest an hour and a half after the pick up time. Late comers are considered a no show All cruise liner passengers: Please look out for our gazebo with the name Desert Dunes and Dust Tours on as you exit the cruise liner. One of the most epic days of my life. Not sure what I was expecting, but driving along the coast and across the dunes was incredible. We stopped for refreshments at the most beautiful spot overlooking Kodak. Honestly Victor was an amazing driver / guide. Would wholeheartedly recommend
We had our tour to Sandwich harbour with Rinus. He picked us up on time at our B&B. Then the amazing ride started and we enjoyed the whole ride, with fun, adrenalin and some snacks on the dunes. We've seen seals and a few Oryx-antilopes. We can absolutely recommend it.

Our guide Tongai was brilliant - experienced & knowledgeable!! Highlight = light lunch on top of the dunes. The fog cleared & the views the incredible! Also driving on the sand with the massive sand dunes on our left & the Atlantic Ocean to our right. Fortunate, to also see seals, flamingos, jackals & whales!

We had awesome day with Volker! Volker was very knowledgeable about the Namibian history and geology. There were lots of stories, which made it feel genuine. Volker also made sure we could take plenty of photos at the most scenic spots. The lunch, the high quality lunch, was very cozy with a pretty view. We even got some bubbles and cake to celebrate a birthday! Everyone, including the other couple who were on the tour, were in such good moods that we even got a little treat at the end: a short visit to the seal colony. Absolutely wonderful tour! We would highly recommend 👌

Of course — here’s a more relaxed and personal version: We had a really great afternoon with LeClue. It was quite foggy at the beginning, but just as our guide promised, the sun came out when we reached the dunes, and the views were spectacular. Our guide told us lots of interesting things about the area, the dunes and how they are changing. Om the way to the dunes we saw some game very close to our car! On the way back to Swakopmund, we had some really interesting conversations about the history and the current situation in this part of Africa. Hearing about life here from someone who actually lives in the area made it even more interesting. All in all, it was a great experience — beautiful scenery, wildlife and a lovely afternoon. We really enjoyed it!
