Itinerary
The Catamaran Cruise departs at 08h30 from the Waterfront and returns about 12h00. Enroot to the see will Pelicans Seals and often Dolphins. On a good day we could spot the Sunfish ( Mola Mola) and even Whales ( in the whaling season). Some times Pelicans fly real close and we stop at the seal colony to view the 50000 strong seal colony from the sea. Snacks are served on the Catamaran. We return to the waterfront where we are met by our Sandwichharbourtours.com guide who takes us out to Sandwich Harbor. Time to embark and disembark the Catamaran is not included in the time ( this takes about 20 minutes)
From the Waterfront we proceed to the Esplanade and stop at the Pink Flamingos we drop the air of our tyres and go past the Pink Salt lakes on our way along the shore to the towering Dunes of Sandwich Harbor. Past windswept dunes and and array of seabirds. We may see Seals and jackal.
We drive past the Walvis Bay Lagoon, the Pink salt lakes of the Salt Mine and onto the shore , along the beach south for 60km. We encounter many bird species, migratory and others, Flamingos, Pelicans Avocet, Terns and many more, along the way. We enter the Namib Naukluft Park and onto the towering Dunes of Sandwich Harbor. We drive along the 'Lange Wand,' where Sea meets Dunes, only a narrow strip of beach to travel on, so tide is very important. We have the most stunning Dune views. Its a rollercoaster ride up to the view point and the most beautiful site unfolds at your feet. after enjoying the wonderful Dune views we head back through the dunes. We go to various viewpoints, have short dune walks and look about. Its absolutely amazing. Its awesome! Have a light lunch at some awesome spot along the route. We search for what wild life the Desert has along a small game drive. We head back onto the beach and the way we came to Walvis Bay and drop you at your Cruise liner or Hotel

Please be ready 10min before pick up time You can also travel with your own vehicle to the New Marina and meet us there Please take note all cruise liner passengers. We stand in the port after the first gate with a Desert Dunes and Dust Tours Gazebo that has our logo on. Please note your guide will also stand with a name board. please note all Cruise Liner passengers, your tour pick up time starts an hour after you have docked. The tour will depart latest an hour and a half after the pick up time. Late comers are considered a no show

We were picked up and expected to do the harbour cruise first and were surprised to be going to Sandwich harbour first. The vehicle was old and we were cramped and hot as the AC worked poorly. The guide was good and was a v good driver. Sandwich harbour was beautiful and the dune ride was fun. We felt rushed to get through it and the guide explained he had to hurry to pick up another group in the afternoon. The light lunch was weird. Lots of cold deep fried meats and a small mount of cheeses. We then were delivered to the boat. The captain and deckhand were v pleasant but there were no whales or dolphins just the large seal colony. There was no champagne even though this had been promised. There were about 12 small oysters for 8 people and then more of the cold deep fried breaded snacks. I would recommend this activity but not this operator. I did WhatsApp them about my concerns and they said they would get back to me but 4 days later and nothing
It was a great and eventful day for the whole family! Only at sea with seals, dolphins and whales. Then the Sandwich Harbor tour. Huge! We can only recommend. Especially the tour for Germans with VOLKER! Very informative, super nice and mega driving skills during the action drive through the dunes.

The hotel pick-up was convenient; they accompanied us to the port where we boarded the catamaran for the morning trip. Sipping a hot coffee, we sailed to Pelican Point, where we observed a huge colony of fur seals from the boat, but no pelicans, because it is too cold at this time of year. Second stop: whale watching, which didn't keep us waiting too long. Around 12:00 we started heading back to the port and on this stretch the guides set up a buffet with various meat and fish appetizers and, above all, a taste of Namibian oysters (delicious). Back at the port, we were accompanied by Wintan, our guide on the desert dunes. The afternoon at Sandwich Harbour was something indescribable, it is a surreal place, every dune offers a breathtaking view, and running along the shoreline where we met fur seals and jackals sunbathing was super fun. Highly recommended!

This was just magical from the beginning! To start with, we had a very special encounter with seals and explored the bay on the boat, our captain was incredibly welcoming and even served us delicious oysters for brunch! Then we drove around the dunes with the amazing Winton and his pal AJ, we literally had the BEST time ever! Thanks to the expertise of Winton we enjoyed the dunes and every viewpoint in the best way! Plus, we had so much fun chatting with them and learning about this fantastic place thanks to all the information and interesting facts provided on the way. Just impossible to get bored! To top it off, another delicious lunch was served to us right in front of the dunes. Can’t recommend this tour enough, thank you so much guys for making our day unforgettable!

My girlfriend and I did the combo tour — Catamaran Cruise and Sandwich Harbour — and it turned out to be one of the best days of our entire Namibia trip. We were picked up at our guesthouse around 07:30 and headed out on the cruise. The boat was fairly small, which we really appreciated: instead of being one of fifty people on a big catamaran, you get a much more personal experience. Plenty of space, plenty of time to take everything in. We enjoyed it thoroughly. Back at the harbour, Andrew was already waiting for us with his 4x4 — and this is where the day went from good to unforgettable. He drove just the two of us all the way out to Sandwich Harbour and made the whole region come alive. He explained the landscape, the wildlife, the way the desert meets the ocean, going into real detail and showing us things we honestly never expected to see. You could tell he wasn't just running through a script; he genuinely knows and loves this place. On top of that, he took the time to give us practical tips for our own self-drive around Namibia, which was above and beyond anything we expected from a tour guide. If you're considering this tour: do it. And if you can, ask for Andrew. He's the reason this day was truly one of a kind.
