It was my first watercolor painting! I have always been interested in painting, but I have always thought landscape painting is a high bar. It was fun to have a teacher teach me well!
For me this experience was very disappointing. Other classes look so like yours. Finding my way was hard so g I got it wrong and missed the class. What I did find disappointing was the teacher just texted ‘Why’ when we did not turn up. I went to the wrong train station. I found communication after that abrupt, not supportive. I now just searched for those messages but cannot find them. To book another class and pay again when the instructor was abrupt was not what we missed out My one dream in coming to Japan was to do paint classes. $284.54 Was allot to loose. I would not recommend the class as coming to Japan and getting it all right is allot to learn. Yes I went to the wrong place but abruptness was not what I thought my experience should or would be. Sorry but is there any opportunity for a refund Jeanette
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize for failing to meet your expectations and causing you discomfort. We deeply regret that our communication was insufficient and that my message may have come across as cold. That was absolutely not my intention. I fully understand how much you valued this experience.
Very fun. Such an interesting art and learning it was so amazing. It really gives you an appreciation for the method of arts.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback. I’m delighted you enjoyed learning this art and appreciated its unique method. Your words inspire me to keep sharing this experience with others!
I had a wonderful experience at this calligraphy studio in Japan. The instructor was warm, patient, and made the entire session feel relaxed and enjoyable. We practiced traditional techniques and created beautiful bamboo ink drawings, learning the meaning and flow behind each brushstroke. The studio itself was peaceful and inspiring—perfect for focusing and creating. Even as a beginner, I felt supported and left with a piece I was proud of. It was a unique and meaningful way to connect with Japanese culture. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a creative and authentic experience in Japan!

Such a unique experience! I'm an anime and illustration teacher in Tokyo and I took my students here. They really enjoyed working with a new medium and learning traditional techniques. I wish the class was a little longer.
Thank you so much for bringing your students to the class. I’m happy to hear everyone enjoyed trying new techniques and working with a different medium.
I participated as a lecturer. Even the first student of ink painting completed a splendid work in an hour! The names as signatures were also written in Japanese characters. I'm sure it will be a good memory of Japan.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I’m delighted that even first-time participants were able to create wonderful sumi-e paintings and write their names in Japanese. I hope this becomes a special memory of Japan for everyone.
Going with several and we have a good time ... it's great for the whole family and people are friendly everywhere there is something to sit and even a table
Thank you for your kind words! I’m glad you all enjoyed your time together.
Great family activity! Yoshy is super nice and explains the art very well in black ink:)) you can go with your eyes closed (well open it is more convenient to draw anyway)
Thank you for your lovely feedback! I'm so glad you and your family enjoyed it.
Superb Tiptop Painting Experience with Yoshie! The ink is super beautiful and black! We learned to write our name in Japanese and became experts in bamboo!
