Don’t just eat at ramen shops while you’re in Tokyo–why not learn how to make an authentic bowl of ramen at home? Make the noodles from scratch, prepare a rich broth, and learn how to cook the chashu pork for Jiro-style ramen. In Akihabara, discover Japanese seasonings and foods at a local grocery store. • Practice cooking in a conveniently-located studio in central Tokyo • Receive digital photos from the class afterwards as a souvenior • Learn how to navigate a Japanese grocery store and about local ingredients • Approximately 20-minute Akihabara walking tour + 20-minute grocery store tour Notes: If you let us know more than 48 hours in advance, we can change the chashu from pork to chicken. The transportation from Suehirocho Station to the studio is not included in the tour. Please use your own Suica or other IC card when taking the train. If you don’t have one, the guide will help you buy a ticket.

Aki was our guide and very knowledgeable about the neighborhood. So friendly. Rowena the chef was a very good instructor and also very friendly. I highly recommend it!
Rowena san made our experience an amazing. She took care of the fact that we have best time of our life. Me being a vegetarian, she personally took care of the experience and made sure I have my tasty ramen experience.
We visited Tokyo to celebrate our daughter's 25th birthday, and this experience was one of the highlights of our trip! My family loves taking cooking classes when we travel internationally, and the Ramen Making From Scratch + Akihabara Tour exceeded all of our expectations. Our guide, Setsuko Ishido, was warm, energetic, and incredibly knowledgeable. She gave us a fascinating walking tour of Akihabara, sharing its history and modern culture before taking us to a local grocery store to shop for our ramen ingredients. She explained each ingredient, its flavor, and even suggested substitutions we could use back home. Setsuko made the entire tour engaging and memorable. At the cooking studio, we met our instructor, Satomi, who just happened to share the same birthday as our daughter—the very day of our class! She was patient, welcoming, and an excellent teacher. Her one-on-one instruction made the cooking process easy to follow, and we were amazed by how delicious our homemade ramen turned out. From the bright, spotless kitchen to the personalized attention and genuine hospitality, every detail made this experience exceptional. We left with wonderful memories, new cooking skills, and one of the best meals we had in Japan. I highly recommend this tour and Patia's Cooking to anyone visiting Tokyo!
We were visiting Tokyo to celebrate our daughter's 25th birthday. My family and I travel internationally quite often and enjoy learning to cook foods that are popular for the regions we visit. The Ramen Making From Scratch +Akihabara Tour through Viator was such a fun and wonderful experience. Our tour guide, Setsuko Ishido, was so kind, energetic and informative. We loved how she walked us through the Akihabara area explaining the history and current day happenings of the area. She also took us to a local grocery market where we picked up ingredients for the Ramen and listened intently as she explained the ingredients and their flavors and substitutes we could use if we couldn't fine the ingredients back home. Setsuko is amazing! When we arrived at the kitchen, we met our wonderful instructor, Satomi who happened to share the same birthday of our daughter which was the day of our class! Her demeanor was so welcoming, calm and pleasant as she taught us how to make absolutely delicious Ramen. We were so excited and proud of the meal we made. We enjoyed everything about the experience from the very clean, light and airy kitchen space to the one on one attention we received from Satomi. I highly recommend this tour and Patia's cooking classes.
We had a fun morning with a short tour of Akihabara and a local grocery store before heading to the kitchen to make ramen. We were met by Shafi who was very enthusiastic about the Akihabara area and Japanese food. It was very interesting to learn about unfamiliar items at the grocery store. Hiroko did an excellent job of guiding us through the steps of making our ramen including making "wavy" noodles. The food was delicious and we had fun making it.

I had a great experience. I was assisted by Tamae and Maho, and they were two of the kindest people I met during my trip to Japan. They were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and made me feel comfortable throughout my visit. The food was excellent. This was a really cool experience. Mikiko met us at the train. We took train to grocery store. Shopped for fresh ingredients and then made ramen from scratch. Hiroko was an amazing teacher and my 15 yo son even enjoyed the cooking. Best time today and lunch was awesome . They also take photos and share so you can spend the time enjoying. They capture the moments 😊
