Pompeii Small Group Tour with an Archaeologist

Marilyn was a really talented and knowledgeable guide. She gave really nice information and advice for exploring Pompeii on our own after the guiding tour.

We had a wonderful time with our guide and group. This was our first time in Pompei, and we learned a lot!

We really enjoyed this tour! Our guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the history of Pompeii. It was fascinating to learn about life in the ancient city and to hear that there is still so much left to be excavated. Having an archaeologist as our guide made the experience even more interesting. Definitely recommend!

We booked the Small Group Tour of Pompeii with Askos Tours, and it was easily one of the highlights of our visit. Our guide, Roxanne, was fantastic from start to finish. As an archaeologist, her depth of knowledge about the site, its history, and Roman daily life was incredible. What really made the experience stand out, though, was how she delivered that information. Rather than lecturing with dry facts and dates, she kept things engaging, witty, and remarkably easy to follow. She navigated our small group through the highlights and quieter corners seamlessly, making an overwhelming ancient city feel completely approachable and alive. If you are heading to Pompeii, Askos Tours is top-notch—and definitely ask for Roxanne if you can!

Tour guide had great knowledge about the area and history of the ruins. Tour was run at a good pace, pausing in the shade whenever possible

Our guide was so amazing. Vito was incredibly knowledgeable and well spoken. He really made this trip the most amazing part of our tour through Italy.

it was exactly as described, which we enjoyed for the most part! We went on a Saturday and although end of September is supposed to be after “busy season” there were still 30,000 people there. Our tour guide was Maralin and she was fantastic! Also you only see a fraction of the grounds on the ~2hr tour, so if you want to see more, don’t plan anything after. We had another reservation after so we couldn’t stay but wish we would’ve! There’s a little cafe/bar inside too, which was a nice surprise. It was nice they give you ear pieces to ensure you can hear the guide the whole time too.
