We had an excellent experience and great overview of Pompeii. The meeting point at the train station was clear, and we were assigned a fantastic guide, Gino, who was informative and funny. Knowing the rhythm of the multitude of other tours underway, he was able to guide our group to minimize exposure to the crowds. Gino has also made friends with many of the cats of Pompeii, who would seek him out for treats as we went through.

A perfect way to see and learn about Pompeii, guided by the amazing Gino! While the tour was short in duration, it was perfect for us to see the highlights. Streep climb to start and to exit but otherwise level ground. Stepping stones could be slight problem for some but manageable.
Pompeii is so huge that I honestly don't know how anyone visits it without a guide, and Gino, our irascible escort for the two hour tour, was simply superb, bringing the place alive with his detailed knowledge. We visited most of the main sites in the west of the city, with Gino guiding us effortlessly through the astonishinly huge crowds along the maze of streets, all the while imparting nuggets of knowledge both astonishing and amusing. Without doubt a highlight of our trip, if not of all of our travels. Organisation was excellent, met by our representative from Belmare Travel at Sorrento station exactly as described, and the group was a good size. Highly recommended!
Gino was a great guide - sharing personal stories of the people of Pompeii in a way that brought those ruins to life! He was animated and lively, keeping us moving through the tour and through time! Sometimes I could imagine i was back then living their lives (and sudden deaths!). Would recommend Gino's version of the tour to every one!
