In Arromanches, you'll be transported back in time to witness the ingenuity of the Allied forces during World War II. Today, you can still see the remnants of the artificial Mulberry harbor that was constructed here to facilitate the unloading of troops and supplies. The panoramic views of the coastline are breathtaking, and you'll gain a deep appreciation for the strategic significance of Arromanches during this pivotal moment in history.
Longues-sur-Mer is home to a well-preserved German coastal battery. The four artillery casemates overlook the English Channel and were part of Hitler's Atlantic Wall defense system. The site offers remarkable views of the surrounding landscape and provides a glimpse into the challenges faced by both Allied and German forces during the invasion.
As a charming fishing port, Port-en-Bessin played a crucial role during the Normandy landings, serving as an important logistics hub for the Allied forces. Your guide will share stories about the port's significance during the war and the remarkable efforts made by the soldiers to secure this vital harbor.
Omaha Beach is one of the most famous landing sites of D-Day and holds significant historical importance. Here, you'll stand on the same sands where thousands of American troops bravely stormed the shore amid heavy gunfire and artillery. Your guide will provide a moving account of the challenges faced by the soldiers during this intense battle. As you walk along the beach, you can pay your respects at the memorials and reflect on the valor and sacrifice of those who fought here.
The Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, situated on a bluff overlooking Omaha Beach, is a poignant and deeply moving tribute to the fallen soldiers. Your guide will share stories about the individuals laid to rest here and provide insight into the profound impact of their sacrifices on the course of history.
Cider tasting is optional in the Tour. Indulge in a sensory journey at Ferme de la Sapiniere where centuries of cider-making tradition await. A great way to see and hear about D-Day landing beaches and experience the picturesque countryside .
Hello, thank you for your kind review take care!!
We had a great day riding around and seeing all the DDay sites. Thierry was so knowledgeable and you can really tell he has a passion for talking about history with others. He was also funny and entertaining. Doing this excursion was one of the best parts of our trip to France. We’ll always have this really cool memory! Just book it. You’ll have no regrets!
Hello, thank you so much for your kind review, take good care!!
Truly unique experience and an absolute must-do in Normandy. The four hours flew by, and our kids came away with wonderful memories and a great sense of how to visit this historic region
Hello, thank you very much for this kind review, take good care!!
Thierry and Manuel were very kind, professional, and attentive throughout the entire tour. They took us by motorcycle through spectacular landscapes and made us live a unique experience. We were a group of four: my husband, myself, and our 17 and 19-year-old children. Throughout the tour they explained the history of the Second World War to us and took us to very significant places, sharing very interesting information. The best part of all was that our children enjoyed the experience a lot, and that is saying something since they are usually not interested in history! Without a doubt, it was one of the most memorable moments of our trip. We recommend this experience 100%!
Hola, muchas gracias por esta reseña tan agradable. Ha sido un auténtico placer pasar estas horas en vuestra compañía. Cuidaos mucho. Un saludo, Manuel
Excellent experience. Saw so many great things and the guides were wonderful. This was my highlight of seeing Normandy.
Hi, thank you very much for your kind review, take care!!
Best way to see all that Normandy has to offer with a knowledgeable, private tour guide. You really get to see the countryside as opposed to being in a bus. Manuel was great and really went above and beyond!
Hello, thank you very much for your kind review, take care!! Manuel
The Day D beach tour with Manuel and Thiery was great. Even though I knew the story in detail they had the practical knowledge of where the events took place I highly recommend. Besides, the bikes with the sidecar gave a special taste, which you would not get in a minivan. My children and my wife loved it.
Hello, thank you so much for your so kind review. Take good care!
If you're planning a trip to Normandy, don't see it any other way than with Normandy Riders. This was, without question, the best tour of our entire trip. Manuel and Jerry were absolutely amazing tour guides. They were incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and passionate about the history, bringing each stop to life in a way that was both meaningful and unforgettable. They also made our entire family, especially our kids, feel completely safe and comfortable throughout the day, allowing us to relax and truly enjoy the experience. Seeing the D-Day sites this way gave us a perspective we never could have experienced on our own. The attention to detail, the personal stories, and the genuine care they showed for our family made this a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We can't recommend Normandy Riders, Manuel, and Jerry highly enough. If you're visiting Normandy, this is the tour to book—you won't regret it.
Hi Jennifer, thank you so much for your so kind review, We hope you are all good, take good care!!
Our motorbike and sidecar tour was really great - our guide Tierry was brilliant and told us loads of information about the area and anything we needed to ask about the battlefields and cemeteries that we visited along the way. It was a great way to sample the Normandy coast and all the little villages that we passed through whilst enjoying the freedom of the motorbike and sidecar. Tierry was an excellent rider and a great guide - we loved it!
Thank you very much for such a kind review. Thierry
Philip did a wonderful job. Even though entering started early, he offered a rain suit, but it wasn’t necessary as it quickly let up. I had seen some of the sites before, so he worked with me to a tour which took in the important things that I wanted to know of further. He has a great machine and he is a good teacher highly recommend the tour.
Thank you for your kind review ! Take good care, Manuel
