Itinerary

15 min

Your Gentleman Sider (guide/driver) will meet you with his vintage sidecar at the pickup location of your choice, or at the parking lot of the Bayeux Battle of Normandy Museum, or at the Bayeux bus station. He will help you gear up with helmets, gloves, and retro goggles before getting you comfortably settled in the sidecar. There will, of course, be stops along the way to take breaks and capture photos.

60 min

INCLUDED IN OPTIONS: 2-HOUR BRITISH SECTOR – HALF DAY – FULL DAY Your driver will take you to Arromanches-les-Bains. It was on this beach that, during the Battle of Normandy, immediately after D-Day on June 6th, 1944, the Allies established Mulberry B, a temporary artificial harbor designed to allow the landing of heavy equipment without having to wait for the capture of deep-water ports such as Le Havre or Cherbourg (Cherbourg-en-Cotentin since 2016). Although located in the center of the Gold Beach landing zone, Arromanches was spared the worst of the fighting on D-Day. To enable the rapid installation and proper functioning of the harbor, it was essential not to damage the beach and to preserve the surrounding communication routes. British troops therefore landed farther east, between Asnelles and Ver-sur-Mer, and liberated Arromanches by land on the evening of June 6th. The harbor was put into service on June 14th.

60 min

INCLUDED IN OPTIONS 2: HOUR BRITISH SECTOR – HALF DAY – FULL DAY The Longues-sur-Mer battery is one of the artillery batteries of the Atlantic Wall, located in the coastal commune of Longues-sur-Mer in the Calvados region. The site consisted of four long-range 150 mm naval guns, each protected by a reinforced concrete casemate, along with various installations used to operate and defend them. Situated in the Allied Normandy landing zone, between Omaha Beach and Gold Beach, the battery was subjected to intense aerial and naval bombardments, preventing it from fully engaging on D-Day. It was captured the following day by British troops. Listed as a Historic Monument, the battery is remarkably well preserved. The site is now developed for visitors and has become a popular stop during tours of the D-Day landing sites.

30 min

INCLUDED IN OPTIONS: 2-HOUR AMERICAN SECTOR – HALF DAY – FULL DAY Liberated on June 8th, 1944 by the 47th Royal Marines Commando during Operation Overlord, Port-en-Bessin became, as early as June 16th, the central hub of a pipeline network of approximately 120 km designed to supply Allied armies with fuel. By the end of August 1944, this system was expanded through Operation PLUTO, which involved laying underwater pipelines between the Isle of Wight and Querqueville near Cherbourg.

30 min

INCLUDED IN OPTIONS: 2-HOUR AMERICAN SECTOR – HALF DAY – FULL DAY Omaha Beach remains one of the most iconic D-Day landing sites, holding undeniable historical significance. Here, you will stand on the very sands where thousands of American soldiers bravely landed amid intense gunfire and artillery bombardment. Your guide will share moving accounts of the challenges the soldiers faced during this fierce battle. As you walk along the beach, take a moment to pay tribute at the memorials and reflect on the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought here.

60 min

INCLUDED IN OPTIONS: 2-HOUR AMERICAN SECTOR – HALF DAY – FULL DAY The Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, perched on a cliff overlooking Omaha Beach, offers a poignant and deeply moving tribute to the fallen soldiers. As you walk among the rows of white marble crosses and Stars of David, you will be filled with a profound sense of gratitude and respect for those who sacrificed their lives for freedom. Your guide will share stories about some of the individuals laid to rest here and provide meaningful insight into the historical impact of their sacrifice. *During the low season, the cemetery closes early. Any tour starting at 4:00 PM will not be able to include the cemetery visit.* *Please note that starting in 2026, the visit to the Omaha Cemetery cannot be guaranteed and will be replaced by the visit of WN60.*

60 min

ONLY FOR THE 6-HOUR OPTION Pointe du Hoc became a crucial strategic battleground during the Allied landings in Normandy on June 6th, 1944. Located between Utah Beach to the west and Omaha Beach to the east, this promontory was fiercely fortified by the Germans (WN 751). Allied aerial reconnaissance revealed the presence of powerful long-range artillery pieces threatening both neighboring beaches. Quickly neutralizing these guns was considered essential to ensure the success of the landings. Explore this historic site with fascination, where courage and strategy played a decisive role in the path to liberation.

Side Car tour review

I did this tour for 3 ½ hours with my son and was expecting a simple tour however it exceeded my expectations massively. Our guide provided us with some amazing history and stories of the places that we visited and was incredibly kind. Also he answered all of our questions! The motorbike and sidecar looks amazing and speeding along country roads in it is so much fun! So I would highly recommend this tour to anybody visting Normandy!

Experience of a Lifetime

If you do nothing else this will be all you need. I cannot begin to tell you what a wonderful experience we had as a family of four. We had Phillipe and Remy as our guides. They were both so knowledgeable and passionate about the history and their patriotism. We were picked up at our hotel and the drive through country roads was incredibly beautiful. It was the highlight of our trip to France and worth every single penny. Book it now!

Met our drivers Remy and John right on time in Arromanches. Super super friendly and super knowledgeable. The kids and I totally loved the experience of safely riding in the open and visiting the historical sites of D Day in a private setting. Totally recommend it. We had a blast.

D-Day Tour At Is Best 🏍️🇫🇷🇬🇧

Such an amazing day! 🏍️🇫🇷🇬🇧 Wow, what a great way to see the D-Day landing beaches. Our guide, John, was awesome — funny, friendly, and so knowledgeable. He really brought the history to life with great stories and facts, while keeping everything fun and easygoing. Riding on 'Monty' made it feel even more special and quite nostalgic and gave us a totally different perspective of the area. John was a fantastic guide and is really passionate about sharing the history of such a historical event. An unforgettable experience for me and my daughter from start to finish. Honestly, couldn’t recommend this tour highly enough. Thank you for the memories ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
