Join us for Whale Watching in our cool Alaskan waters and then view one of 38 glaciers from the Juneau Ice Fields - the spectacular Mendenhall Glacier. We guide you on a 2 hour whale watching tour, spotting Humpback whales and other wildlife. Then off to the Mendenhall Glacier to spend some time hiking, watching fish spawn at Steep Creek or enjoy an outstanding view from the Visitor Center. You get 1.5 hours at the park, but don't worry! That is the perfect amount of time to walk to nugget falls and take in the displays at the visitor center.

We drive you via bus to this beautiful park. Time spent here depends on the time of day you arrive. Refer to your tour guide for the most accurate information. IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT VISITOR CENTER: Hours 9am to 6pm. 2:30pm and 3:30pm departures will arrive at the park after the VC closes, but the park, trails and photo ops are open!

The whale watching was wonderful. We saw seals, whales and porpoises. The visit to Mendenhall glacier was largely self guided but it was great for hiking and enjoying the scenery. The vehicle drivers were great! Gave us lots of tips and information about the area.
Journey to harbour and whale watch was fine and informative, with excellent activity at sea. Dropped off at the Glacier at 17.40, with tbe visitor centre cloding at 18.00. Nothing much else to do but sit uncomfortably in the cold, to await 19.00 coach pick up. Not good!!
It was a cold and rainy day in Juneau and that didn’t stop this excursion. We saw whales and orcas. The crew was awesome. Everything was super organized and easy to follow. Would highly recommended!

Amazing trip! Whale watching exceeded my expectations! The guides were very knowledgeable, informative and friendly! The captain was very accommodating and turned the boat to get the best views of the whales. We were fortunate enough to watch the humpbacks bubble net feeding.It was a once in a lifetime experience Highly recommend!!
Absolutely amazing experience! We saw three whales, bald eagles, Mendenhall Glacier and hiked out to beautiful Nugget Falls. I honestly could have sat there all day just taking it all in! The tour was well organized, the guides were great, and the entire day was unforgettable. Definitely one of the highlights of our Alaska trip and something I would 100% recommend!
This trip was great, the meeting place was close to the cruise port and easy to find. There were multiple groups and tours going out of the same spot, but it was well organized and easy. Our bus driver Ian was very knowledgeable about the area and showed us pts of interest, gave history of the area, gold rush info, geological info and more. Weather was beautiful that day, so that was a plus. On the whale watch portion we saw jellyfish before we even got on the boat. On our way out we had Dall porpoises riding the bow and saw humpback whales very quickly. Multiple spout, backs and tails at the same time. We even got to see orcas. We stayed out there as long as possible to see as many whales as we could. On our way back we stopped for pictures of the glacier and also saw “Flame”, the whale whose whale tail is at the visitor center. Our captain was Russell, 1st Mate Brock and Naturalist Jude, all were great. Then back to the bus to go to Mendenhall Glacier. We walked to Nugget Falls which is beautiful, can get close enough to feel the water spray and has a beautiful lake area to relax by. We also walked to photo point where you can see the glacier and falls. The visitor center is set up high so it has nice views out towards the glacier. We had plenty of time to do all we wanted there before the bus picked us up. We did the 10 am tour and it was perfect and left us more than enough time to explore the city and do some shopping and sightseeing after. Would definitely do this excursion again if back in the area.
This was the highlight of our cruise! Our all female crew (captain and 2 naturalists) for whale watching did an exceptional job taking us to a location where we saw several humpback whales at the end of the season and educating us about them and their behavior. It was raining that day, but it started to clear after spending ample time with the whales so our captain made a short unplanned stop to a location where we could see Mendenhall Glacier for our group to take photos. We greatly appreciated it especially since our cruise ship did not visit a glacier. The trip to the Mendenhall Visitor Center was also fantastic. The shuttles were well organized and the drivers were friendly and informative about local sites. The Center provided a great opportunity for us to view the glacier and the short hike to Nugget Falls was well worth it.
We saw whales and orcas, the boat crew was excited with what we saw. They did a great job and were very informative.
We booked this excursion outside of the ship's shore excursions and could not have been happier. All the people for Juneau Tours were extremely knowledgeable and super friendly. We saw a ton of whales, both orca's and humpbacks and still had plenty of time at the glacier. Be sure to book early since it does sell out. They know the ship gangway up/down schedule and will have you back in plenty of time. Highly recommend.
