I had an amazing day trip to Kamakura with an excellent tour guide, Kay!!! This was my last full day in Japan and an amazing day. I enjoyed going to the bamboo forest, I loved the big Buddha in Kamakura, I found unique art in Kamakura at an art gallery and I also got some good udon noodles for lunch. All in all it was an amazing day!!! Thanks Kay!!!!

Marc was incredible! So knowledgeable, adaptable to our interests and engaging. He was particularly attentive to helping us with walking issue - locating all the elevators and making the trip easy for us. He was very good at small details and made this a lovely day for our family.

Hi there P3TER I’m so glad you had a great experience with a City Unscripted host in Tokyo and for your day trip to Kamakura! One of our key missions is to show you the authentic side of the city, so I’m glad you explored these places. Hopefully we’ll get a chance to host you again in your future travels and we can make another great match. Kind regards, Zoe
A great trip and we really enjoyed getting out of the city for the day. Our guide - Kento - was brilliant and as well as being a great guide he also gave us a great insight into Japanese life. There is loads to see in Kamakura and easy to see why they call it the Kyoto of the east. We were able to get around the city quickly and efficiently on e-bikes which we hired next to the rail station.
We were a party of four, and wanted an in-depth immersion into the history of Kamakura. We were so lucky to have Martin as our guide! Martin is extremely knowledgeable and easily answered all of our questions. He is a real professional! He promptly met us at our hotel at the prearranged hour. Took us to Kamakura by Metro and JR trains, explaining both mass-transit systems to us along the way. Martin had already planned out an exciting and informative itinerary, tailored to our interests. We covered every one of the major sites, with Martin providing all the background info. He is humorous, has a great personality, and is a real "people person," You would be very lucky to have Martin as your tour guide!
Our tour guide was great and very knowledgeable. We really enjoyed our day in Kamakura. Highly recommend it!!!
We were in Tokyo for a week, and this tour was one of our highlights. Our tour guide, Martin, was excellent. He not only took us to the main temples in Kamakura, but he also gave us an insight of the culture in Japan. He took us to a local cafe for lunch that we would never have known about to have a tasty meal. He was able to answer the questions we had about living in Japan, the religions, mannerisms, transportation, etc. He catered our tour to our interests, which made it that much more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this tour.
