Culp's Hill

5 min

These monuments mark where Union cavalry held the line long enough for reinforcements to arrive—buying crucial time on the first day of battle.

5 min

Dedicated to the only civilian to fight in the battle—a 69-year-old local who joined Union soldiers and became a national legend.

The Eternal Light Peace Memorial
10 min

A powerful symbol of reconciliation, dedicated in 1938 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to honor both Union and Confederate soldiers.

One of the most famous sites of the battle. This hill was desperately defended in a last stand that saved the Union Army’s left flank.

A rugged, boulder-filled landscape that saw intense fighting and is now known for both its history and its eerie, haunted reputation.

5 min

The largest monument on the battlefield, honoring over 34,000 Pennsylvania soldiers who fought at Gettysburg.

High Water Mark of the Rebellion Monument

The Auto Tour is a great experience!

The tour was great and it definitely explains so much of the history of the battlefields. Although I think this tour should be free the price was not bad for the information provided. The guide was spot on with location too. If you made a wrong turn it will guide you back to the route. It did take us quite a few hours to do the whole tour with stopping and checking out the monuments and reading the placards and climb the three viewing towers so it would be wise if planning the tour you carve out extra time. All in all we very much enjoyed this auto tour. We did the auto tour because we had our dogs with us. If you plan on doing the museum at the battlefield just know that pets are not allowed only support dogs.

Not great experience

Not the easiest. You need to download additional apps. The GPS and naration do not run properly together

Operator response

Hi! What type of phone do you use? I'd love to look into this, 1000's take our tours and I have not heard the audio did not match up before. I'm guessing you clicked "Virutal Mode" and not on location? On location uses the GPS features to play as you drive. Virtual just plays the audio (so you can hear it anytime). In any case, I'm happy to refund you. As mentioned 1000's take our tours and have great experiences, so I'm sorry it did not work out for you.. Please do share more at info@walkntours.com, and I'll look into it. And if you want a refund just let me know, Thanks! Greg @ WalknTours

Would use again

It was difficult to start at first if you wanted to begin in a different area. Once it got you to your destination the guide on the app was great and stayed with you where you went. Would definitely use again.

Operator response

Good tip, the stories play as you drive and starting from the start is the best experience. Look for our tours in 270 plus destinations when you gravel, like Gettysburg! Greg @ WalknTours

Good tour

It was a good guided tour. It would be a bit better if the app actually synced with Apple car play, as it was a bit cumbersome when getting out to do the tour and getting back in the car to continue.

Convenient and informative tour!

We decided to visit Gettysburg enroute from Hershey to D.C,, so a driving tour was very convenient. This auto tour on this app by WalkinTours was so informative, easy to follow, and had perfect directions. It hit all the major sights, and you decide which ones you’ll get out and explore. It took us approximately 4 hours to get through the entire itinerary, and we didn’t get out of the car for a few of the stops. I highly recommend this experience, and if you can, go to the visitors center before this tour.
