French Baking Class in a Local Montmartre Bakery

Description
Unlike standard cooking classes, this experience takes place inside a real Parisian bakery, not a classroom. With only eight participants, you’ll enjoy direct, hands-on guidance from a professional French baker who shares both practical techniques and insider stories. You won’t just watch—you’ll shape dough, laminate pastry, and taste a variety of breads and cakes while learning the history and secrets behind them. From discovering why the baguette is a French cultural symbol to uncovering the surprising origins of the croissant, every detail adds depth to your experience. By the end, you’ll leave with your own freshly baked creations, plus the knowledge and confidence to bring authentic French flavors into your own kitchen long after your trip.

We had a group of four that just wanted to learn some basics about making things such as baguettes and croissants and were not disappointed. David did a great job of explaining the terminology, process, ingredients, and techniques for making the bread. Plus, he both made us laugh with his humor and taught us some of the science behind the bread making. We all agreed afterward that it was a memorable experience that we will always appreciate having done. We did finish with making financiers and took many home as well as several demi-baguettes. Make sure you plan to eat those baguettes for dinner that day and for the whole next day! Also, no need to bring a jacket or sweater because it is quite warm working near the oven. We definitely recommend this experience.
