Exclusive First Access Vatican Tour with Skip the Line Basilica

Description
Start your day with first access to the Vatican Museums—no waiting in line, no crowds. Join a small group tour with a knowledgeable, English-speaking guide and explore the Vatican’s most iconic masterpieces before the rush begins. Choose between two group sizes—intimate (up to 10 guests) or group (up to 20 guests)—for the experience that suits you best. Your expert guide will lead you through the galleries with engaging stories and insights, revealing the legends, symbolism, and history behind the treasures of the Museums. At the tour’s grand finale, step into the awe-inspiring Sistine Chapel and witness Michelangelo’s masterpieces, including The Creation of Adam and The Last Judgment. Now ALWAYS included: skip-the-line access from the Vatican Museums directly into St. Peter’s Basilica. While this access does not include a guided tour, it allows you to bypass the long lines and enter the Basilica at your own pace.

Itinerary
Visit the Vatican Museums with fast entry, in the first available access of the day.
This courtyard gets its name from the enormous bronze Pinecone sculpture that dominates it. Don't miss Alfredo Pomodoro's famous Sphere within Sphere while you are here. Ask your guide to give it a spin for you!
Don't miss Arnaldo Pomodoro's Sphere within a Sphere. Variations of this sculpture can be found in many settings around the world. Ask your guide to give it a spin for you!
The most famous wing of the Vatican Museums, the Pio Clementino museum contains much of the Museum's most important highlights. Your guide will take you through the Room of the Animals, where you can spot the life-like statues of fauna from around the world. Head to the Octagonal Courtyard where a small fountain trickles in the background of famous statues like the Laocoonte and Apollo Belvedere. Don't forget to look at the Candelabra Gallery - master painters decorated these ceilings to create the illusion of a 3D effect centuries ago!
Head with your guide to the Gallery of the Maps and get a perspective of the world how it was five centuries ago. These exquisitely detailed, hand-painted giant maps are a favorite of the Vatican Museums. See if you can find the Italian cities you have visited, or spot the nod to Christopher Columbus' journey to the Americas.
Raphael painted these rooms with incredible frescoes, originally meant for the private rooms of Pope Julius II.
No guides are able to speak inside the Sistine Chapel. However, your guide will prepare you in advance for your free time inside so you'll know what to look for.
Your visit ends close to where it began, after the spiral staircase at the entrance to the Vatican Museums.
When option is selected, access is provided to St Peter's Basilica, skipping the lines. A tour is not provided inside the Basilica, only access. Your visit will end at the steps of St. Peter's Square with an introduction made by your guide after which you will be on your own to continue exploring.
Only for options that explicitly include St. Peter's Basilica: Your tour will include access to St. Peter's Basilica through a special exit from the Sistine Chapel, allowing you to bypass the usual long entry lines. Please note that this access does not include a guided tour inside the Basilica.

The overall experience was great. Our guide Alessia was knowledgeable, patient, funny. She took good care of each of us. Just be aware that this tour doesn't include personal guidance in the St. Peter's Basilica, rather just entrance. The guide is on your phone.

As indicated in the tour inclusions, the guided portion covers the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, while St. Peter’s Basilica includes direct access (if chosen) and an audio guide for the independent visit. Great tour and skip the line was a big timesaver. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and helped us navigate as we had a young child with stroller.

It’s also wonderful to know that your guide was knowledgeable and helped make the visit as smooth and comfortable as possible while traveling with a young child and stroller. Aiko was A wonderful tour guide. There weee a total of 11 in our group. My only wish is that we had longer than 15 minutes in the Sistene Chapel. But the skip the lines and information were all worth the money.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your tour with Aiko and appreciated the skip-the-line access and all the information shared throughout the visit. We completely understand your wish to have more time inside the Sistine Chapel — it is truly a special place with so much to admire! Our guided tour lasts approximately 2.5 hours, including the visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Please note that the time spent inside the Chapel can also be influenced by Vatican staff, who manage the flow of visitors and, especially during busy periods, may ask groups to move on after a certain amount of time to avoid overcrowding. Thank you again for choosing EcoArt and for sharing your experience. We hope to welcome you back on another tour in Rome!
Our Tour guide was a delightful lady named Monica who works for EcoArt Travel and she was nothing short of a very proud, interesting, and very engaging, walking human encyclopedia! It is clear that she absolutely loves what she does and that made for a very special tour. We'd been through the Vatican Museums and into the Sistine Chapel a number of times prior to this, but Monica made us feel like she was taking us on a tour of her own home! Her extensive knowledge of the location, as well as the history behind so many of the pieces and locations along the way was nothing short of remarkable! This was a tour every bit as significant as the site itself! A morning very well spent!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that Monica made your Vatican experience so special. Her passion, knowledge, and enthusiasm truly make every tour unique, and we'll be sure to share your kind words with her. Thank you for choosing EcoArt Travel, and we hope to welcome you back to Rome again soon!
Our tour was amazing! We were lucky enough to get Oscar who did a tremendous job guiding us through the tour with great details and facts. Since it was a three hour tour, he didn’t waste our time with uninteresting things and was aware enough to know where the AC were and where the spots were so when he talked, we were able to rest.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear you had such a great experience with Oscar. His knowledge, engaging storytelling, and thoughtful approach to the tour truly make a difference, and we'll be sure to share your kind words with him. We're especially glad you appreciated how he kept the tour comfortable while making the most of every moment. Thank you for choosing EcoArt. We hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable experience in Rome!
