Our tour takes us through the Ramsar Convention Walvis Bay lagoon wetlands, where up to 250,000 and 54 species of birds can be seen from time to time: Pelicans, flamingos, plovers, sandpipers, and other endemic Birds can be seen. We drop our tire air pressure and discuss the many birds.

Magnificent wide open spaces as the dunes get closer to the sea. We enter where dunes meet sea on a narrow strip of beach. Awesome dune views and walks await us. We take a stomach-tingling roller coaster ride to the Sandwich harbor viewpoint. The bay is at your feet, surrounded by the Nara bush. Sandy sandbanks are awash in the bay and the green sea with blue sky and red dunes is absolutely awesome.
We take a dune drive to the best views, searching for animals in the desert and looking for a unique picnic spot. Lunch with a dune view, quiet, very quiet, only us around. We have time for dune and beach walks.
Our route takes us through the dunes and a game drive where we might see ostriches, oryx, jackals, and springbok. On the beach the seals may be sleeping or playing, and if we are lucky, we will see dolphins and whales. The route is back along the shores with thousands of birds. Sadly, we end up in Walvis Bay. We tank up and air up and take you back to your hotel.

An unforgettable experience – an absolute must-do!
What an incredible experience! We had an amazing day on this full-day tour with our fantastic guide, Andrew.
Andrew has an impressive knowledge of nature, wildlife, and the desert. He shared so many interesting facts about the animals and landscapes we encountered along the way. On top of that, he is an excellent driver who navigated us safely and confidently through the dunes and along the ocean.
The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and the entire experience was unforgettable. This tour is an absolute must-do and definitely one of the highlights of our Namibia trip! A huge thank you to Andrew for making this day so special.

Amazing Tour to Sandwich Harbour
What an amazing experience at Sandwich Harbour!
Andrew was a fantastic guide – incredibly knowledgeable, with lots of interesting facts and explanations throughout the trip. His driving was excellent, and I felt completely safe, even on the steep dunes. On top of that, he was super friendly, funny, and great company.

You gotta go!
We had a wonderful time on the tour, it was truly a great experience. Our tourguide Volker had great knowledge abaout the places we visited, really put his heart into it and was just a great, "our kinda guy". He handled time, the vehicles and everything else like a true professional. Couldnt have a better time out where the desert kisses the ocean. Highly, highly recomended! Köszönjük szépen Volker!

Tour with Volker
It was an awesome experience with Volker! He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and made you feel comfortable from the very beginning. You can really tell how passionate he is about what he does. Incredible 4x4 experience in the dunes
Incredible moment in the middle of the dunes all the way to Sandwich Harbour. Winton picked us up in Swakopmund and accompanied us for 4 hours. He even ordered the sun for us! Great 4x4 experience and the picnic facing the sea was a magical break. We highly recommend it!!

We’ve already done the tour with Volker twice, and both times it was an absolute highlight! He drives very safely and carefully, has an incredible amount of knowledge and always takes the time to explain things and answer questions.
What we especially appreciate is how attentive he is to his guests and their individual wishes. The group size is perfect, creating a relaxed and personal atmosphere where everyone feels included.
The length of the tour is also just right – enough time to really enjoy the experience without ever feeling rushed. Volker’s knowledge, friendly personality and passion make the whole tour truly special.
