We had a very nice experience. This is a nice way to learn about a part of Japanese culture. It was very relaxing and certainly provided a new appreciation for matcha.

Wonderful! Highly reccomend it! The staff is super frindly and welcoming. Wonderful experience. Must do in Kyoto!
Even though it is an experience set up 100% for tourists, somehow they manage to preserve a remarkable authenticity in the moment. Probably because of the sincere love and dedication to this discipline that the people who work there have. Very nice moment, I recommend it.
This has been my favourite place to come to since I came to Japan for a month! Good points -served by people who are tea masters who live and breathe tea! -clean lovely waiting room with free water wifi and chargers for the on the go traveller -treated with respect and kindness -English is word for word perfect with clear news reader accent (take it from an Englishman) -knowledge is second to none and answer all questions -a must see experience for any Englishman or tea lover and actually a really special experience Ok bad points -my partner wouldn't let me go to the kettle museum the lovely ladies told me about afterwards (I love tea) No other bad points the place is perfect the art of tea is a dying practice go and see this experience while you can!
Nice tea ceremony. Very good explanation of the process and history Welcoming and friendly staff. Room was small and plain. A nice garden view would have made it extra special.
Very well organized and explained. Making our own matcha was an interesting experience. Learnt a lot. The little sweet was really very lovely ! Thank you. Kalpana and Joseph Robinson. UK.
The instructor was very informative and graceful in her performance of the tea ceremony. It was a very peaceful and serene learning experience of Japanese culture.
The people were so friendly. The room was clean and well organized, and Airconditioning that people were very accommodating for us when we missed our train they let us go into the next session, even though it was full. They were very nice.
Yes very nice experience. Get there early and walk around the area it’s lovely.
It is false advertising based your picture since it is not sit down traditional tea it is very boring not worth of 35$ per person
Dear Saied, First of all thank you for taking the time to give us some feedback. While it is always disheartening to receive negative reviews, it is important for us to hear personal opinions, and it also gives us a chance to respond. Traditional tea ceremonies take many different forms, and we pride ourselves on our friendly, accessible and authentic experiences. All our tea rooms have traditional decorations, furnishings, and tatami mats. The addition of tables and chairs in some of our tea rooms is in part to make tea ceremony more manageable for those who find it difficult to sit on the floor, but is no less authentic. Table and chair style tea ceremonies started over 100 years ago, and one of the wonderful things about tea ceremonies (and an important part of the lessons behind practicing tea ceremony) is that they can be performed almost anywhere to anyone. I am very sorry that the tea ceremony you experienced did not meet your expectations. I am also very sorry that you felt the experience was boring. Although the tea rooms at our locations differ somewhat, the experience itself remains the same. Again, we are very disappointed that you left feeling underwhelmed. Please feel free to reach out again if you would like to discuss anything in more detail, and please enjoy the rest of your time in Japan.
