Itinerary
Kiyomizu temple is one of the World Heritage Lists in Kyoto. Then It is the must-see temple in Kyoto. Please look at the panoramic view around Kyoto. Because it is located on the Higashiyama hill. Also it has longer history than capital of Kyoto. It was originally built in 778.
Sanju-san-gen-do temple is one of our recommended temples in Kyoto. Because you can find fantastic statues in main hall. Those are called One thousand One " Senju Kannon" statues. Also please enjoy the spectacular views with the line-up of Buddhist statues.
We will take lunch break in Arashiyama. ★Lunch info (If you choose our tour with lunch) ・Japanese style buffet lunch with local foods Enjoy the seasonal buffet along with the superb view from your seat overlooking the Togetsukyo Bridge, the symbol of Arashiyama. Please note that the buffet offers the same menu for all guests. *Muslim-friendly, Halal,Vegan meals, Gluten free, and Allergy-friendly meals, etc. are not available. Please book the tour without lunch and bring your own lunch. （The dates below will be a Japanese set meal instead of a buffet lunch:4/14, 4/16）
We will go through the Bamboo forest trail to Tenryu-ji temple. Bamboo is all year green. Then the beauty is signature of Kyoto. Please bring your camera. Because there are photogenic places.
Tenryu-ji temple is listed on the World Heritages in Kyoto. There are traditional Japanese garden. The design of the garden is unchanged more than 700 years. You can enjoy beautiful flowers and plants in each season.
Kinkan-ji temple was built in same era as Tenryu-ji temple. Also it is listed the world heritages either. The Golden pavilion is so magnificent covered with pure gold leaves. It is the symbol of Kyoto.
We will pass Nijo Castle on the return way. It was an important place in Japanese history because the Tokugawa shogunate returned the political power to the emperor. Please enjoy the guide’s commentary as you view the castle from the bus window.
Fushimi Inari Shrine is the most popular place in Kyoto currently. Because it has beautiful One thousand Torii gates. You can go through in the One thousand Torii gates. It is an unforgettable experience for you. The inari shrines host the guardian gods for business success, well-being of the family, traffic safety and improvement in performing arts.

At chan made it so much fun between sies. We learned our number , thank you and more sayings in Japanese. She is also an extremely perceptive and caring person. Nagomi was great! Very warm and friendly , I enjoyed her cute posters that she made to teach us about all these cultural sites in Kyoto. It was a very efficient way to get through a ton of very iconic places , and we really enjoyed the lunch buffet as well.

It was an introductory level tour, which includes several major temples in Kyoto. It was run in a very fast rate to provide a kind of general overview of Kyoto. It included a lunch, which I do not recommend much for people not familiar with oriental fast food. We with my husband are not young, and I believe, this tour was too stressful for us. However, I am still glad that we took it because we had only a couple of days for sightseeing in Kyoto, and it was my first visit visit to this city, even though I was in Japan several times..The tour guide was nice. What we both did not like very much was the following situation: when we arrived in the last temple my husband developed some stomach problems. Therefore we cold not follow the group, but stay basically in the entrance area (which was also the meeting point). it was rather hot, so we tried to be in some shade around. As a result, when the group,obviously, did not look around and departed, in spite of the fact that I told the guide about our health problem. Being left behind was rather unpleasant (without our bags left in the bus). But the worse of all was the process of recovering of our belongings left in the bus). We came next morning to the meeting point near Kyoto Station (as we were directed by the phone tour emergency operator. There we were just abused by the lady in charge of the tour on Aug 16 2026. Only after second call to emergency phone somebody appear and returned us ( at least partially) our stuff. Therefore I strongly do NOT recommend "Perfect Kyoto 1-day bus Tour) for people above 65 years old. Dr Elizabeth Its and Prof Alexander Its of Carmel, IN, USA.
