Our guide Fred was terrific. He shared his account of living in manhattan on 9/11. His stories were heartfelt and completely made our experience worthwhile. The 9/11 museum was underwhelming. There were remnants of the building, an odd assortment of items owned by those killed, and photos of missing persons posters & a video and descriptions of each victim. I had hoped to get more of a sense of what it actually was like on that day for New Yorkers. Fred provided some of that. The one World Trade Center tour was a lot of flash, not much substance. Too much waiting to get to see what we came for. They worked too hard to justify the expense of a simple observation deck. Skip it.
