Descending 70 feet into the World Trade Center’s bedrock foundations, the 9/11 Museum spans 110,000 square feet of gallery space. Visitors enter past two 80-foot steel "Tridents" before descending alongside the "Survivors' Stairs"—the final escape route for hundreds—and the massive slurry wall. Among the remnants, travelers encounter bent "Impact Steel" from collision zones and the crushed Ladder 3 fire truck, honoring first responders. Inside, personal memory meets global history. The In Memoriam gallery honors the 2,983 victims through portrait walls, audio memories, and keepsakes. Next door, historical exhibits detail the day minute-by-minute using news footage, air traffic transcripts, and personal artifacts, while examining the post-9/11 security landscape and international legacy that shapes our modern world.

Excellent, moving, emotional, respectful.

Excellent experience. We booked tickets direct with the website, but we didn’t do a guided tour as we preferred to move around at our own pace. We went at 4pm & very busy, easy journey on the subway. Incredibly moving, to stand at the site of the old World Trade Center & imagine the horrendous events of 9/11 unfold… Very emotional to see the photos & listen to the telephone messages of the victims. So much to see & read, impossible to process it all. Very sobering to see the destroyed Ladder 3 fire truck & the preserved staircase. Everything inside & outside - very respectfully done & very thought provoking.

Filled with awe and gratitude

It was one of the most somber yet uplifting experiences of my 70 years! I had an ache in my heart for 4 hours!

No guide to be found

We booked the 911 museum with entrance and 1 hour guided tour. When we arrived our tickets did not scan to get in to the museum, but the guide let us in anyways. We then proceeded to join our guided tour. When we got to the desk, they told us we were not on the list and that it was a third party seller and not part of the museum. I looked back on the instructions and there was nothing indicating that we should meet a third party person/guide somewhere else. We then had to pay extra to get the audio tour. This was very disappointing! Thankfully they took pity on us and let us in the museum, at least!

Tragically brilliant

I go to a lot of museums. I love the history, the learning and the experience. This had all three and so much more. Such an appropriate way to tell a tragic story, to not pull back from its horror and to reinforce the bravery of those across the nation who faces this event. Remarkable retelling in a location that still had the walls of the original buildings. Amazing. Go to this museum - you won't leave skipping but with a higher resolve to do good on the world.

9/11 Experience

Was a wonderful experience to see what happened and hear about it from survivors. The shows they had were very informative and interviews told the story.

9/11 Memorial and Museum

We booked a tour and it was well worth it. The guide provided an in depth tour that we would not have experienced on our own. Prepare to spend a few hours here.
