Description

The ultimate trek to the top of the world, the Everest Base Camp Trek is a bucket list trek for adventurers. The 14-day journey through the Himalayas takes you to the highest mountains in the world, and if you’re physically fit and up for the challenge, it’s one of the most incredible experiences of your life. You’ll trek through an astonishing landscape, from forests to glaciers and high passes, and see parts of the Himalayas that most tourists never get the chance to see. The Everest base camp trek is the most extreme trek that the average person can take on. It takes about eight days and covers an average of more than 17,000 feet in elevation. As the highest mountain on Earth (Mount Everest), the trek has several complex challenges for many hikers. In addition to the altitude, there are a number of other factors that must be taken into account to ensure that the trek is achieved safely.

10 day trek

Amazing experience on this trek! We had Suk as a guide and Bobby as a porter, beautiful people, both cousins. We unfortunately didn’t make it passed Dingboche due to a snow storm passing through but had the most amazing time anyway. I’d absolutely come back and use this company and Guide/ porter again!

Giant Whale helps 🐳 five people's EBC Grand Circuit (Everest three pass trek): A hike playing hide-and-seek with the clouds and mist

Foreword Fragments Is the August trip to the EBC circuit a whim, or has it been long planned? Is going to Lukla, the airport rumored to be the most dangerous in the world, a matter of unwavering commitment or a desperate gamble? And let me tell you slowly 😘😘 ☆ Time: 2026.8.5-2026.8.26 ☆ Character: Bird-walking big brother, easy big sister, water-carrying master, mygod young man, sleepy little sister; ☆ Guide: Handsome Ram ☆ Bei Fu (Our partner in the mountains): The eloquent local guide big brother, the warm and quiet big brother, the rugged young man who suffers from altitude sickness; ☆Itinerary: 8.6 Kathmandu day trip $\rightarrow$ 8.7 Fly to Lukla and trek to 📍 Phakding➡8.8📍Namche Bazaar➡8.9📍Namche Bazaar acclimatization day➡8.10Tengboche temporarily changed to📍 Pangboche ➡8.11Dingboche (closed) changed to 📍Pheriche ➡8.12📍Chukhung (didn't go to Ri viewpoint) ➡8.13 Crossing the first pass Kongma La Pass to 📍Lobuche ➡8.14Gorakshep (going to EBC base camp in the afternoon) Did not go to Kalapatthar viewpoint ➡8.15📍Dzonglha ➡8.16 crossing the second pass Cho La Pass to Dragnag ➡8.17📍Gokyo ➡8.18Gokyo Ri Observation Deck Round Trip ➡8.19 crossing the third pass Renjo La Pass to 📍Lungdhen ➡8.20📍Namche Bazaar ➡8.21📍Phakding ➡8.22📍Lukla ➡8.23📍Kathmandu China lunch + Boss's dinner ➡8.24📍Kathmandu Visit Boudhanath & Patan ➡8.25📍Kathmandu sightseeing + dinner + evening flight back to China ➡8.26📍Arrive home in the morning The entire itinerary is very packed. Generally, it is morning hiking, afternoon rest at the tea house. This is because the travel season is the rainy season in August, and the weather has distinct characteristics: in the morning, the sky is clear and transparent, offering an unobstructed view of the rivers, grasslands, and snow mountains, which is incredibly beautiful; around 2 PM in the afternoon, it starts to rain, and it rains in the evening or morning, but there are occasional clear mornings where you can see the golden sunlit mountains. In short, thank you to the handsome guide Ram for taking care of us and the porters for their efforts, which made our trip much easier. As for the scenery and the journey: 1) The scenery is very beautiful: waterfalls and streams rushing through mountains and valleys, snow-capped mountains, glaciers, Mani piles, prayer flags, suspension bridges, cute locals, mountains faintly visible in the mist, wild goats running in the mountains, swaying flowers and grasses at high altitudes, "Delicious food $\neq$ Chinese palate"... Whether you come or not, the mountains are there. Please see the attached pictures for details. 2) Three passes ranking (personal opinion): The first pass is a difficult ascent, the descent is a steep scree slope, and the quarry on the way to Lobuche is a bit indescribable; Second pass moraine (ice axe assisted) involves interesting, steep scree climbing ascent, with chain assistance for descent; the third pass is the easiest, but feels easy to get lost. 3)The road to the main camp: there is some potential danger, with risks of collapse and landslides. 4) The charm of EBC is not just in the scenery, but in the people. With the cute and interesting souls of the giant whales accompanying us along the way, we walk this grand loop together and witness the magnificent craftsmanship of nature. Also met some lovely people on the way, let's remember together, let's witness together! 5)Note: Because of the rainy season, the gravel underfoot becomes slippery in the rain, and every step requires careful probing with trekking poles. In places where certain sections cross streams, please be careful!

Expertly planned and executed 3-High Pass plus Everest Base Camp trek

NMA was recommended to our group of 6 by some friends who booked a couple of tours with NMA. Giri was very responsive and an enthusiastic host. He was very proactive in helping us select our trek and very flexible when we added an extra trekker to our group just 1 month before our trek. The trip was expertly planned and we were pleased to have a local Kathmandu contact to help us with every small detail to ensure we were prepared for our trek with any equipment needs, transfers from and to the airport, hotel bookings in Kathmandu prior to and after our completion, and even taking us to a bar for a nice local club. Giri helped ensure one of our trekkers returned safely and was well taken care of after having to cut the trek short. NMA was a first rate travel agency and very well priced tour that met all our needs. We even added a custom mini-tour to Pokhara and Chitwan National Park at the completion of our 3-high pass plus Everest Base Camp trek that was expertly coordinated and gave us plenty of freedom while still maintaining a busy itinerary. Would definitely use Nepal Mountain Adventures for any return visit to Nepal!

Operator response

We’re especially glad that we could support your group when one member needed to return early and ensure they were safe and well taken care of. We’re also happy to hear that you enjoyed extending your adventure with the customized Pokhara and Chitwan National Park tour. We always aim to provide flexibility while making sure every part of the journey is well coordinated. Thank you once again for trusting Nepal Mountain Adventure and for recommending us. Exceptional EBC & 3 Passes Trek

We’ve just completed the Everest Base Camp & 3 Passes Trek and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Saroj. There were 3 of us (2 girls and 1 guy) and from the moment we booked through Bimal, everything was seamless. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Saroj went above and beyond every single day, we genuinely didn’t have to lift a finger. He insisted on sorting everything for us, always making sure we were safe, comfortable, fed and prepared. All the equipment we needed was included in the price too: sleeping bags, down jackets, crampons, gaiters, head torches, gloves - everything. What really stood out was how knowledgeable and attentive he was with altitude and acclimatisation. Thanks to his advice and pacing, none of us suffered with altitude sickness throughout the entire trek. At some point we started calling him “Baba” (dad) as a joke because of how much he looked after us… and it quickly became his official title for the rest of the trek. If you’re thinking about doing EBC or the 3 Passes Trek, we genuinely couldn’t recommend Saroj and Bimal enough. An unforgettable experience made even better by having the best guide possible.

Lifetime experience of the EBC+3 high passes trek

I came to Kathmandu April without any arrangements. The company listened what I needed and finalised the plan for my at the same day. Then they organised the tickets from Kathmandu to Lukla and the guide. Then they provided a lot of equipment that I wasn’t prepared, as well as drinking bottle and headlight. Got me out of trouble. They also organised the cab to take me to the Kathmandu airport, when I arrived Lukla, the guide was already there to pick me up. During the trip, the guide was experienced and helpful. Pre booked all the accommodation and provided three meals a day. And provided great support for me during the difficult times such as up and down the high passes.they also waited for me more than an hour to pick me up from Kathmandu.Without their help, I don’t think I can achieve what I wanted to do. All the services that they had provided had been nothing but excellent from the beginning to the end. Thank you for helping to make my dream come true. Highly recommend their excellent service. Thanks again Bimal .

Fabulous EBC trek

My 12-day EBC trek was an absolutely unforgettable experience, blessed with breathtaking views that I will treasure for a lifetime. We were incredibly fortunate to have superb weather with gloriously clear sunny mornings. I cannot speak highly enough of my guide, Mathbar, whose warmth, expertise and genuine care made all the difference throughout the journey. Together with our porter, he handled every little detail with quiet efficiency, ensuring the trek ran seamlessly from start to finish. I felt truly looked after every step of the way. I am equally full of gratitude for the exceptional service provided by Nepal Mountain Adventure. The owner, Giri Kewal, was outstanding — always responsive and going above and beyond to make the trip a success. He generously equipped me with an impressive range of gear that proved invaluable on the trail. When our flights to Lukla were delayed, he swiftly arranged a helicopter transfer at absolutely no extra cost. To top it all off, he arranged a wonderful couple of days of sightseeing around Kathmandu in his own company car
