I can’t fault our experience with Valencia Travel and our trek! We booked the group trek however ended up being the only two people! Our guide Genrri was amazing! He provided a lot of great information and history of the area along our trek, was very helpful and understanding when we struggled with the altitude and a head cold! He’s become a friend we’ll stay in touch with! Our chef Carmelo went above & beyond! I did not expect to be getting three course restaurant quality meals served along this trek but Carmelo exceeded every expectation. The porters, assistant chef and horseman were also great! The team made a very challenging trek the highlight of our 5 week trip around South America!

Absolutely wonderful experience. This is my first guided trek and it has set the bar very very high. Our guide Luis was the best man for the job, he always had high spirits, was very funny and always had an answer to any questions about the trail. The food provided by the experienced chefs Augusto and Vidal was always amazing, fun and traditional. The healthy food was always filling and supplied us with enough energy to hike the steep trails. To back all of this up, the horse men helped carry our extra clothing and supplies and would always beat us to our camp, keeping our clothes and essentials dry. Overall, our family had a wonderful adventure from Salkantay to Machu Picchu and would do it again in a heart beat. Thank you to all the team for a wonderful 5 days and being so awesome!

We had a great guide in Aldo who allowed us to customize parts of the 5 day trip to suit our group’s liking. The guide, cooks and porters were timely and ensured we never went hungry. I’d recommend Valencia Travel and highly recommend Aldo as a guide due to his experience and knowledge of the local culture/ mountains

Guide and his crews were best, took care of all the facilities. Day 2 n 3 camping ground were not as expected. Apart from that trip was awesome 🤩

Our Guide - Aldo made the Salkantay Trek an amazing experience for our group. His knowledge about the Inca culture is great. All other crew members also did their best to make our stay comfortable. Why I gave rating 4 is just because of the Camping places on Day 2 and 3 of the trek which were not as per our expectations. Rest all of the things were great.

I cannot express enough how amazing this tour was. Our tour guide, Victor, truly made this an unforgettable experience. He was so personable and knowledgeable and helped our group in whatever ways he could. We had amazing horsemen and the food made by our chef, Mario, was beyond my expectations. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and that was in large part due to Victor. Valencia Travel was definitely the best choice for this trek, and I would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for an adventure!

Doing the Salkantay Trek through Valencia Travel exceeded my expectations! It was both physically and mentally challenging, and our guide, Victor, was there to help us every step of the way. Victor was incredible - personable, knowledgeable, funny, and SO helpful. I honestly couldn’t imagine doing the Trek without him. Additionally, the chef and other helpers/horsemen (Jesus, Mario, etc.) were superheroes. How hard they work is out of this world. The food was so good (and there was so much!) and I honestly don’t know how they fed us the way they did with the equipment they had. Overall, I feel so lucky to have done the Trek with the humans that I did. I already miss my new family!

This trek was an incredible experience! From the vastly different landscapes, to the delicious meals and phenomenal guide, our trip was more than I could have imagined. We saw the soaring peaks of Salkantay and Humantay while exploring the alpine climate. Then descended into the river valleys lush with vegetation and a plethora of crop trees from coffee to passion fruit. Our chef surpassed all expectations of backpacking meals! We were fed so well, the food was so good, and it kept up appropriately nourished for the miles we put in. And we won the lottery with Victor as our guide! He was so incredibly knowledgeable and conversational. I learned so much about Peruvian geography , agriculture, and history and came away with an incredible respect forIncan culture and traditions. Highly recommend!

I can’t say enough great things about this trek! Victor our guide was amazing, thorough, and really made the trip wonderful. Not only was his English perfect, he was funny, motivating and really vibed with our group. He was direct with his communication and made sure our group was taken care of at all times. He was giving additional info with all the sites we visited, which felt like an interactive history lesson. Most of the time he didn’t just feel like a guide, it felt like he was part of our friend group. The food was superb the entire trip! So tasty and filling! Additionally, we had a vegetarian in the group and there was a personalized meal for her each meal. Our cook’s name was Wilfredo who couldn’t have made it anymore delicious. This trek consisted of about 1/3 of mountainous terrain and 2/3 jungle terrain, making it stunningly beautiful. I live in Colorado, and I’ve never experienced a hike where you are in high alpine terrain and end in genuine jungle terrain by the end of the day. Super unique to experience. In addition to our guide and the cooks, the additional help that was provided to bring all our gear couldn’t have been better. They were prompt and polite. Our tents were always set up in a timely manner. Each morning our alarm to wake up would be the workers bringing us hot coca tea and warm water outside our tent to wash our faces first thing in the AM. Talk about feeling like a VIP! If you’re looking for an all around wonderful trek to make your way to Manchu Picchu, this is it. I plan on booking with Valencia again in the future, because I know how great my experience will be.
