I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better guide for my 4-night, 5-day Salkantay Trek than Carlos — aka the Mountain King! From the very beginning, he made us feel supported, motivated, and capable of things we probably didn’t think we could do. This trek challenged us both mentally and physically, and Carlos was exactly the kind of guide we needed. He knew when to push us, when to encourage us, and somehow always managed to keep the energy and laughs going even when our legs were questioning every life decision that brought us there. 😂 I’ll forever cherish the memories from this trek, not only because of the incredible landscapes and experiences, but because of the people I shared it with and the new friendships I made along the way. Carlos truly made the experience even more special. And of course… there’s nothing the Sexy Llama Warriors can’t do! 🦙💪🏼😂 I would do this trek all over again in a heartbeat — especially if I could have Carlos as my guide again! Thank you for pushing us, believing in us, and helping create memories I’ll never forget. ❤️🏔️

The 5-day Salkantay trek to Machu Picchu was absolutely amazing. It is a very challenging trek but the views and the scenery make it worthwhile. The accommodations that you stay in are unbelievable and the food that is served along the way is delicious. The trek was made better by our guide (Carlos the mountain king) who supported and looked after us along the way, he made us laugh and feel very comfortable and he taught us many things about the Inca empire along the way. This experience is well worth the price.

This trip was an amazing experience, we were picked up and dropped off at our hostels. The option to rent equipment was affordable and an easy process. We had a briefing the night before which laid out all the information we needed to know about the next 5 days. Our accommodations were both beautiful and very comfortable. The food was always filling and delicious! I enjoyed having a smaller group as we all got to enjoy each other's company and get to know eachother over the 5 days we were together. Our amazing guide Carlos the one and only Mountain King was not only welcoming from the start but friendly, energetic and full of knowledge. His love for his culture shows and his hard work does not go unrecognized. He always gave us encouragement when we struggled and praise when we accomplished. We had many laughs together this week and this is a trip I will never forget thanks to him.

Had a great time with Carlos the Mountain King and Sexy Llama Warriors. It was hard but everyone involved is extremely organised and it's run very precisely. We were never hungry and Carlos took us to all the picturesque spots as he's very experienced.

We missed the majority of the trek due to illness, but Salkantay trekking was very helpful and arranged for us to rejoin our group in Aguas Calientes. Our guide 'Carlos the mountain king' was excellent, very passionate about sharing his knowledge of Machu Picchu and Incan history

The most incredible experience doing the trek with Salkantay trekking company and Carlos the mountain king. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to do a trip to Machu Picchu! Do this rather than get the train!!

5 day Salkantay Trek with Salkantay Trekking was a trip of a lifetime! The hike was well organized and we knew ahead of time what to bring and how to prepare. Our booking advisor at Salkantay Trekking, Eduardo M. was so responsive, always answered our questions promptly and was so helpful. Our hike guide Jorge Q. was so supportive, organized and attended to the group needs. He shared his passion for the mountains and his knowledge of Peru, it's history and the local nature with us! He was the best!!! The domes we slept in were so cozy and the chefs that accompanied us provide EXCELLENT meals! Would highly recommend for those in good shape and looking for and adventure in a beautiful place!
