Our family of 5's experience with TreXperience Salkantay 5 day Trek was seamless from start of booking process to end of trek (a perfect weather magical morning at Machu Picchu!). Our incredible guides (Julio C, Evans y Roger) were organized, encouraging , attentive and friendly. The BEST! The rest of the team including chef Celso and his staff, porters and drivers worked incredibly hard under some tough conditions. I would not hesitate to book another trip with TreXperience. I had an amazing experience on my five day Salkantay Trek. Our tour guide David Condori was amazing, funny and all around very knowledgable about everything concerning the Incas and his heritage. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience because of him. Accompanying him was also Julio Cesar an amazing cook who made all our food. Even in remote places we were eating like kings. Also all his helpers were exceptional. I have nothing I was unhappy about :)

My friends and I had an amazing time with Trexperience on the 5 day Salkantay trek! Our guides, David and Julio, were absolutely amazing. They were funny, caring, and always made sure we were having a great time and staying safe on the trails. The trek itself was fun each day with views I will never forget. This is a must do for everyone at some point in their life. Hope to be back some day soon and would definitely book again with Trexperience.

This was my first time doing a multiday hike and hiking at altitude and it was totally worth it! Our guides Julio, Evans, and Roger were very knowledgeable and had the tour running smoothly every day. It was a tough trail but having guides that stick with you and help you all along the way really kept me going. Our cook Celso was amazing as well, I was so impressed with the food provided on this trek. This will be an experience that stays with me forever!

I really enjoyed the Salkantay Tour from the beginning to the end. Everything was well organized and I did not have to worry about anything. Special appreciation to our guides Daniel AKA la leyenda and Raul. They created a positive environment from the start on and made everything easy going. Furthermore, the meals were delicious and always much to eat. To sum it up, I would always book with TreXperience again because there is Not a Single thing that made me regret my Choice - Great Value for Money too!

TreXperience was an excellent choice from start to finish! My first guide was Juan Miranda, he is an environmentalist and is passionate about the history of his country. He was very informative about all the historical sites we visited. I enjoyed being with him and learning about the history of Peru!

The TreXperience team goes above and beyond expectations for booking on the Salkantay trek. Our tour guide, David Condori, made the experience memorable with a great sense of planning, humor, fitness, and appreciation for his Incan culture. The food was also insanely good, chef Julio Caesar and crew work hard all day to deliver the most delicious, local, and high quality meals.

I did the 5-day Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu with TreXperience and it was one of the best trekking experiences I've had. The scenery alone is worth the trip: from the high-altitude Salkantay Pass with views of the glacier down through cloud forest, the landscape changes completely every day. One day we had snow, another night a perfectly clear sky full of stars and the Milky Way. Some nights were glamping with marshmallows by the fire, others camping with a direct view of Machu Picchu Mountain, a great mix. Alex and Roberto guided us through it all, and together they made the whole trip. Alex's English was excellent and he was incredibly knowledgeable about Inca history, so this wasn't just a trek but felt like an interactive journey through the past. Both of them looked after the group so well that by the end it genuinely felt like a family rather than a tour group. The food, prepared by our chef Leandro, was outstanding every single day, and we even got cake at one point, a real treat this deep in the mountains. We were taken care of exceptionally well, and everything tasted amazing. I'd recommend this trek and TreXperience without hesitation to anyone considering Salkantay as an alternative to the classic Inca Trail.

I came into this trekking experience quite blind and was really not too sure what to expect. Our group was relatively small and had a diverse background in terms of ages, experience, and demographic. We were paired well with similar physical fitness levels which I appreciated. Our guides, David Condori and Evans were wholesome and experienced individuals. The lengths at which they went to provide a great experience for us were also greatly appreciated. These guides have been trekking Salkantay for years and their experience shows. The history and stories they have shared with us during this trek really made it a unique experience compared to just doing a self-guided tour of this pass; I would always recommend a guided option in order to be able to learn from the locals directly. Our guides were easy to talk to and approachable which made asking gringo-questions seamless. Pricing was fair. Accommodations were comfortable and relatively warm which is all I really need. The chefs food were great and I loved being able to eat like a local from a local themselves. The only thing I would want to see improved upon for future hikers would be for TreX to start including a digital or physical copy of the daily itineraries. This would allow people to better plan their day pack and give them an idea for the day ahead. Its a small request but it allowed me to get a better sense of the day ahead. The daily itineraries were explained the morning of but I can't remember much that early in the morning after eating a big breakfast lol. PS. The hot springs was a great unexpected surprise and I highly recommend it for future individuals as well!
