Guido was our guide for the Salkantay 5 day trek. He was very professional and managed our group of 7 well. We were made up of several smaller tour operators who joined up to make the numbers work. The group was a mix of nationalities and all in our twenties. A great 5 days, very achievable amount of hiking. 2 of our accommodations were brilliant. We were cooked for every meal and catered to two vegetarians in our group.
Guido has been a fantastic guide! He explained the culture here to us and made the trip more pleasant. He is an excellent guide!!!

We had a wonderful time with our guide Oscar (Clavix). The food was great and we had no worries thanks to the good organization and flexible guide. The sleeping domes were great and the blankets abundant. The group of 9 was a good size, we felt like we were the fellowship bringing the ring to Machu Picchu. The tours to the coffee farm (making coffee ourselves) etcetera were very nice. The luxury provided makes trekking possible for beginners. A more general remark on the salkantay trek is that it’s very popular and at times a bit overcrowded, slightly interfering with the pristine mountain environment at times.
The trip was well organised and Oscar was a great guide. Oscar kept a close eye on everyone in the group, and both the accommodation and the food were well organised.
I would recommend the tour to everyone and would do it again myself anytime. I had a super experience with the best people and our guide Fidel, who was super friendly and understanding. I would say it was one of the most beautiful experiences in my life.
This is the trekking company to hire to hike the Salkantay Pass. Experiencing the beauty of the Andes and its biodiversity and being cared for so well by our guide Uriel, horseman John and chef Wilmar made this a very special journey. Thank you for an unforgetable experience Pachu Mama!
I did the 5D/4N Salkantay Trek with Machu Picchu Expedition and everything went very well. The organization was good, especially for the transport of luggage between the different stages, which allows you to walk light and fully enjoy the trek. The accommodations were pleasant and well-suited after the days of walking. A big plus also for the food: being vegetarian, I had varied, good, and very large quantities of meals. There simply wasn't necessarily protein at every meal, so I advise vegetarians to bring some protein snacks. But I was never hungry or lacking energy during the trek! A big thank you also to our guide, Elio, who really contributed to making the experience special. We were only 4 at the beginning and then 2 at the end, so the experience with him was very intimate and personalized. He was attentive, available, and really adapted to our pace. A magnificent experience, with incredible landscapes and very good organization. I highly recommend it! 🇵🇪⛰️
