The tour itself was very good, and we were happy with the experience. Unfortunately, the pickup time was changed from our specifically booked 8:00 AM departure to 1:15 PM, with very short notice and without giving us a choice. This meant we had to cancel our plans for the afternoon. What was particularly disappointing was that we were not given the option to cancel the tour after such a significant change to the booking. A good tour overall, but the handling of the schedule change could have been much better.

Booked through Trip Advisor for Viator for the Auschwitz Birkenau tour. The driver George was excellent. However, we booked an English guide but were informed as we arrived at Auschwitz that no English guides were available and we had to go with a Polish guide. This lessened our experience and had we known beforehand that we wouldn’t have an English speaking tour guide, we would have cancelled. Very disappointing and would recommend that anyone wanting to visit Auschwitz should book direct and not through a third party such as Get your Guide or Trip Advisor.

I ordered and paid and had a confirmed visit before we ventured to Krakow, bey the evening before the trip everything was changed. We had no visit to Auschwitz Birkenau, no guided tour, no lunch - more or less: No nothing. We where transported to a museum and spent one and a half hour there, and then we drove past Auschwitz Birkenau and visited a book store. Then transport back to the hotell. The only person I have been able to contact is the driver, and he is not the responsible for this. If this is how they make money, they will not last long. I am cheated and very disappointed. And the same was the rest of the group.

I booked tickets for Auschwitz-Birkenau via Headout, made payment and received a confirmation email. Late in the afternoon the day before we were to go on the tour I receive a WhatsApp message from ComFort tours stating that they could not get confirmed tickets and offered an alternative “extended” Auschwitz tour with a 20% discount or a refund. I questioned what the alternative would offer and specifically if we would be able to walk around and see the sites listed. I was given evasive misleading answers “you will see everything as normal”. Desperately wanting to see Auschwitz and having traveled to Krakow specifically for it we accepted. The “extended” tour essentially amounted to stopping the vehicle on the roadside so that we could get out and view Auschwitz-Birkenau from a distance through the fences that surround them. This is NOT the same as seeing and experiencing a guided tour of Auschwitz-Birkenau and is something you can easily do by taking a train to Oswiecim and walking around the area. The ONLY way to see and experience Auschwitz-Birkenau is with an official ticket from the Memorial Organisation. The sites are completely fenced off. Get it directly from the official website, take the train and forget about unscrupulous tour operators. If this happens to you, take the refund.

Really interesting trip. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about his work. Would recommend.

Unfortunately, our trip was canceled one day before😒very annoying, since that is why we traveled to Poland.

It was a little longer to get there from the old town than we thought but not a problem at all. The driver was great and very organised offering to arrange a packed lunch as little time to get food there, and we were so glad we bought this as he was totally right. The guide was great too, very passionate yet respectful to this sad place.

Hasty visit with untruthful booking information, booked for 9:00 AM and confirmed, subsequently the time was changed to 6:05 AM. English tour planned with documentation in Italian, which was not given to us. 8-hour tour confirmed, 6.5 actual hours, too much rushing.
