Wine Discovery Tasting In Carcassonne

This was definitely one of the highlights of our wine tastings during our trip to France. The two-hour educational tasting was excellent, and our host really knew his stuff. He was very knowledgeable about the wines and did a great job highlighting the Languedoc-Roussillon region, including specific producers and the different styles of wine being made there. We tasted an impressive variety of wines: two whites, an orange wine, three reds, three sweet wines, and a sparkling wine. It was a great way to experience just how much variety there is within the region. The food served alongside the wines was also excellent. The charcuterie board was very good, and the cheese selection was outstanding. The quality of the cheeses in particular was amazing and really added to the tasting. We learned a lot, tried wines we probably wouldn’t have discovered on our own, and had a great time doing it. Highly recommend this tasting if you’re interested in learning more about the wines of Languedoc-Roussillon while enjoying some really wonderful food and wine.

Great couple of hours spent sampling 7 wines, accompanied by bread and some nibbles of cheese and meats. Knowledgeable English host who pitched at just the right level.

Just booked a couple of days in advance, a great experience: Alex was great as host, friendly and v knowledgeable and facilitated a warm atmosphere with all guests who were strangers before. His knowledge and passion were evident and we gained increased knowledge of the history of wine and the wines of the region. A great experience

For someone who knows very little about wine, this was amazing and I learnt so much. I would definitely recommend it.

The wine tasting was run by Alex, a very knowledgeable and affable gentleman who was generous with his time and keen to impart an abundance of facts around winemaking in general but around Langedoc & Rousillon in particular. We thoroughly enjoyed the event and highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn a little more about regional wines. The tasting event was conducted in his shop Vin & Vinhos in Carcassonne, with the added bonus of air conditioning during an exceptional heatwave which made it particularly comfortable.

Alex was fantastic. Very welcoming and gave an informative and interesting presentation The wines sampled were lovely as was the charcuterie and cheese board. Would definitely recommend.

Alex was an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable host. Six of us attended on a drizzly day and we had a fabulous time. The wines we tasted were varied and the information that supported the tasting that explained how these differences are achieved was really interesting. The charcuterie was also a delicious bonus!

We had a really enjoyable and informative few hours with Alexander telling us all about how wine has been produced in this area over the centuries. We had an excellent selection of wines to taste accompanied by a delicious array of local cheeses and charcuterie. The whole experience was excellent value and we would highly recommend.
