It was terrible. The swimmers in the water were the only ones that got to really see the whales because the boat stayed so far back. Guide needs a lesson on how to speak with people.

IMPORTANT REMINDER : This is a NON-SWIMMING tour - It's a whale watching tour from the boat. There will be no possibility to upgrade to a swimming tour once you book this tour. Get up close to some of the most majestic ocean creatures on a half-day small-group tour from Moorea. Observe whales, possibly dolphins and more wildlife around Moorea. If we have great whale encounters and enough time we will snorkel and swim with sharks and stingrays in the lagoon.

It was great, the guide was super and the captain too. We saw the whales, the diving was great for those who were able to dive with them. What luck. Thank you, unforgettable
Superb tour, quickly found whales, got to watch them for ages. Knowledgeable guide and snorkeling at the end was good.
We only booked this trip about a week in advance because another operator cancelled on us. The only disappointing part is we couldn't actually go swim to the whales because they are limited to 6 swimmers and all those were booked. We had to watch from the boat about 150 yards away which was a little far but we still were able to see whales going up and down many times. After that we went to a Laguna where we could swim with friendly sharks and stingrays. Overall an existing trip and both the captain and the guide were great.
Note this review doesn’t apply to the staff (friendly, knowledgeable) or the SWIMMING tour. But - we would not recommend at all booking a whale watching tour from this operator, as the description “watching only tour” is extremely misleading. You will end up on the same boat as swimmers. And the boat is going to optimize for exactly that : they will chase sleeping or static whales, as those ones can be easily approached by swimmers. Those whales are sleeping underwater, meaning you’ll see nothing from the boat. See some whales moving, jumping, playing in the distance? Too bad, we’re not going to follow them, as they are not the right whales for swimmers. Having the 2 groups mixed on the same boat was just a super frustrating experience. They should have separate boats for separate experiences.
We spent an excellent afternoon with Jason and Louis. The atmosphere was great. The dolphins and whales were there. Thank you for the explanations about the life of the whales. To finish, swimming with the blacktip reef sharks and the stingrays. This afternoon will remain a great memory.
The weather was not good and still they continued with the boat trip . There was no option to return back unless there was an emergency according to the captain.
Robert, Thank you for taking the time to review your experience. Weather was as normal as it gets at this time of the year. No one complained on board at all besides you, especially once you were told that the tour your booked was a non swimming tour (just watching from the boat). You were on a shared tour with other people who enjoyed watching the many whales present that day. We cannot penalize those enjoying the tour for someone whose ocean conditions is not to their liking.
Great experience. We only took the tour to see whales from the boat, not to swim. It was great. We also often saw humpback whales 🐋 from the boat, in addition to dolphins 🐬 and a turtle 🐢
The whales were absent
We did the half day whale watching (non-swimming) with our guide Louis and it was a fantastic experience. We got very lucky & witnessed 11 whales almost as soon as the tour began. Louis & our captain were able to maximize our experience through their knowledge of how to position us in relation to the whales. We saw many breach's, and some of our fellow boat-mates were able to swim with the whales and capture once-in-a-lifetime video content. We also spent some time snorkeling in deep water was blacktip reef sharks. Highly recommend this outfit!!
