Although we are the original whale-watching company in Juneau (operating since 1994), we are still small and family-owned and operated! We want you to feel like part of the family, and we pride ourselves on prioritizing local hires in order to give back to our community and give you the best possible tour experience. We want our guides to love Juneau as much as you do! Our fleet consists of only mammal-friendly jet boats, and the small size and intimate setting will make you feel right at home with the whales. We pride ourselves on our quick transfers between vehicles! We don't want you to wait any longer than you absolutely have to!

Itinerary
Go in search of whales with a naturalist guide on a day trip from Juneau. Hop onboard a boat and get binoculars to spot other wildlife such as sea lions, bald eagles, and black bears. Depart from downtown Juneau on a bus driven by a local tour guide through a scenic route to Auke Bay, where you board a comfortable jet boat. Be led by a captain and naturalist on an unforgettable search for whales in Favorite Channel, Stephens Passage, Lynn Canal, or Saginaw Channel. Binoculars are provided so you can see the humpbacks, killer whales, Dall’s porpoises, harbor seals, Steller sea lions, bald eagles, black bears, and towering mountains better. With the growing abundance of whales in the area and their comfort with small boats, you are bound to see many. This tour includes transfers between downtown and Auke Bay and two hours on the water. Included in the price of the tour are onboard refreshments, including bottled water, coffee, hot chocolate, and a small snack.

Our family went on the Whale Watching Adventure in Juneau with Dolphin Jet Boat Tours, and it was so much fun! We not only saw so many humpback whales, but we also learned so much from Kyla. She was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and eager to answer all of our questions, making the tour both exciting and educational. As an added bonus, we were thoroughly entertained by our bus driver, Charlie, to and from the docks, which made the trip even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Dolphin Jet Boat Tours to anyone visiting Juneau!
Our captain, Austin, and naturalist, Jayd, were amazing! We learned it was Austin’s second summer in this job and we felt confident and safe in his care— not only for the passengers onboard but also the marine life. He communicated with other boat operators and together they all worked together to give all the passengers the best experience possible. We also have high praise for Jayd, the naturalist. Her enthusiasm and knowledge of the marine life and Juneau area is to be commended. She was personable and friendly which added to the whole experience. There was a moment where she pointed out a baby humpback and you could tell she was just excited as we were, as if it was her first time but obviously was not. We made these arrangements directly with the excursion company rather than the cruise ship. It was easy to locate the meeting point on the pier for the shuttle ride to the embarkation point. Our shuttle driver was also knowledgeable and had some humorous jokes during his narration on the drive. He drove safely and talked to us about points of interest along the 1/2 hour drive (ea way). We have full confidence in recommending this jet boat whale watching tour to enhance your Juneau vacation!

I am a local Juneu resident that had adult family come for a visit- Wow, wow, wow! The whale came so close( on rheir own- we respected the laws) I literally could smell whale breath! No kidding! They were bubble netting today and Captain JJ had us in just the right place at the right time and Naturalist Kyle did an amazing job of keeping us on point for what predictable activities take place just before the Whales rise to tge surface! We enjoyed everything about tour/excursion

It was an amazing experience. We were so lucky to get to watch bubble net feed multiple times. The crew were very nice and knowledgeable.

We had a beautiful sunny day and natural so informative. I actually saw breaching ! Saw lots of whales and several of them were very close to our boat.
Very comfortable boat. Locally owned and the two crew who assisted us- Libby the naturalist and Capt JJ guided us to the whales snd it was such a rewarding experience.There was a group of tenor so and we watched then doing all sorts of wonderful things like lunge feeding. A once in a lifetime sighting
