Wessex Spirits The Gin Palace

We visited The Gin Palace on Saturday for the gin tasting experience and had an absolutely amazing time. The whole experience was fantastic from beginning to end. The setting is brilliant, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and of course there was plenty of great gin to enjoy! It was a really enjoyable way to spend a few hours and we loved learning more about the different spirits and serves. A special mention to Vicky, our host, who was absolutely excellent. She was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and engaging, and really helped make the experience so enjoyable. Nothing felt rushed or overly formal, and she had a great way of making everyone feel involved and welcome. Her enthusiasm and personality really added to the experience. We’ve done quite a few drinks and gin experiences, and this was definitely one of the best. It’s the sort of experience where you leave having had a great time and already thinking about when you can come back! If you enjoy gin, I would definitely recommend booking the Gin Palace tasting. We visited recently and had a lovely evening here. Beautifully decorated inside and a large selection of gins to try. We loved the hot cross bun gin and the cocktails were delicious. We would definitely visit again.

Whilst having a quiet drink with my daughter a customer went behind the bar to make her friend a cocktail. The barman (I think his name is Ben) let the customer carry on making a mess. The customer then carried on drinking with her friend. She was talking quite loud swearing at her friend, at this stage two ladies left quite disgusted at the barman for allowing this to happen. This place is normally a nice place to relax. Kate, this sort of behaviour should not be allowed.

We had booked a couple of places on the mixology course (28.01.2023). Unfortunately, it was postponed for a couple of weeks. As I had booked train tickets and accommodation for the night I decided that the wife and I would still go. We went to the gin palace for a couple of hours and tried a few of the cocktails. Kim was standing in for Kate and she was lovely. Very chatty and friendly. We are looking forward to going on 18 February for the mixology class.

The best venue for a girls night out! We chose Kate’s gin palace for a reunion and it was so much fun. Beautifully designed, and delicious gin which is all handmade by Kate!

Having work in the service sector for some time now so I know how tough it can be. Came across this recently and couldn’t recommend enough. It just so rare to meet a business owner with such love,care and attention in what she does. If its a personal touch your looking for on a special night out or even if your just looking for something a little different. I have another night booked already. Thank you Kate.

I booked the tasting room last year to celebrate a birthday with my girlfriends. I wanted something different, and Kate’s gin palace was perfect! The tasting room has a real boutique feel, is beautifully styled and offers a unique, private drinking experience. Kate introduced each of her delicious gins, but was the perfect, unobtrusive host - so we had a fabulous night gossiping and giggling in the privacy of our own room. I would highly recommend a visit to the tasting room, I’ll definitely be going back!

I went to The Gin Palace recently with friends for a birthday. We tasted lots of delicious gin, all hand crafted by our host, Kate. A really great evening - great company, great service, great atmosphere, great gin! Highly recommended.

We visited the place to celebrate a very dear friend’s milestone birthday. We were a group of 5 friends.. had this place for us exclusively. We had a good taste of various Gins and Kate gave her special touches to them. Thank you kate for making a special evening for our friend and for us. Thought it would be a nice idea to celebrate a friend's birthday in this gin tasting room. We had such a fantastic night. Kate was the perfect host - welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and her gin cocktails are AMAZING! Such a fun, laid-back night in a beautiful space. We'll be back!
