Ripoff
Bought same day tickets but the Monument is shut for maintenance. We're told to come back next day so we did but it's still shut. No mention of how to get a refund. A complete ripoff.

Operator response
At 11:48am you purchased the 2:30pm tour. We sent tickets at 12:30pm. At 2:23pm National Park Service issued a closure due to maintenance issues. At 2:28pm we informed you of the closure asking if you had visited the Monument yet. Four days later at 6:56am you requested a refund. At 7:31am we replied informing you we would process the refund, which we did immediately after. We're sorry the National Park Service closed the monument and took 4 days to fix it, but that is beyond our control.

Getting your ticket the...
Getting your ticket the viator is confusing. These recreation.gov tickets are free on the recreation.gov website, but viator has somehow figured out how to grab all the available tickets as soon as recreation.gov releases them. So if this is a must-see, your only guaranteed option is viator. (Very irritating!). This makes getting the actual tickets confusing.
That said, goi g yo the top if the Washington monument is amazing!
Operator response
Glad you enjoyed the views. For many people the assurance of getting the tickets and guidebook is worth the cost if they haven't gotten tickets in advance.

The park service should only sell to individuals
I wonder why it's so difficult to get the free entry time. And Viator can get plenty to sell for $24 each

Waste of money
There was no line and the online book is stupid.
Loved the monument of course but to pay extra was a waste of money
Operator response
Glad you enjoyed the Monument. For many people the assurance of getting the skip-the-ticketing-line tickets and guidebook is worth the cost.

No wait
So worth the money to not stand in line. View from the top is amazing! Only way to get a good view of the White House.
