Itinerary
No Roman tour would be complete without the Colosseum—and while we won’t go inside, we will stop nearby so you can capture that epic shot. This ancient amphitheater, once the stage for gladiator battles and Roman spectacles, still stands as a powerful symbol of the Eternal City. A quick photo here is a must—and the Vespa makes it even more iconic!
As we weave through Rome’s historic streets, we’ll pass by the grand Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. One of the city’s four major papal basilicas, it’s a masterpiece of sacred architecture and centuries of Christian history. While we won’t stop here, you’ll get a great look at its impressive facade and elegant bell tower—a true gem of Roman spirituality and art.
We’ll take a relaxing break at the Pincian Terrace, nestled in the beautiful Villa Borghese gardens. From here, you'll enjoy one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of Rome—overlooking Piazza del Popolo, the rooftops of the historic center, and even St. Peter’s dome in the distance. It’s a peaceful moment in nature with the Eternal City laid out before you—perfect for photos, a deep breath, and taking it all in.
As we descend from the Pincian Hill, we’ll ride past the grand Piazza del Popolo—one of Rome’s most iconic squares. Once the main northern gateway to the city, this elegant piazza is framed by twin churches, ancient fountains, and a towering Egyptian obelisk at its center. Though we won’t stop, you’ll have a fantastic view of its symmetry and scale from the sidecar as we glide by.
As we cruise along the Tiber River, we’ll pass the striking Castel Sant’Angelo. Originally built as Emperor Hadrian’s mausoleum, this fortress has served many roles over the centuries—from a papal refuge to a prison. Its circular shape and dramatic position by the river make it one of Rome’s most photographed landmarks. Though we won’t stop here, the view from the sidecar is more than worth it!
As we cruise through the heart of Rome in our Vespa sidecar, one of the most iconic landmarks we pass—though not enter—is the Vatican City. This tiny independent city-state, the spiritual center of the Roman Catholic Church, is home to St. Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican Museums, and the Sistine Chapel. While our tour doesn’t include a stop inside, you’ll get a unique street-level view of the Vatican’s majestic walls and bustling surroundings. It’s a perfect photo moment and a chance to take in the grandeur of the world’s smallest country—right from your seat in the sidecar!
As we ascend Janiculum Hill, we’ll pass by Piazza Garibaldi, home to the towering equestrian statue of Giuseppe Garibaldi, a hero of Italian unification. This scenic square offers sweeping views of Rome and is steeped in 19th-century history. While we won’t stop here, the atmosphere and views from the Vespa make it a memorable part of the ride.
Just a bit further along Janiculum Hill, we’ll pause at the majestic Fontana dell'Acqua Paola—often called “Fontanone” by locals. This grand baroque fountain, with its cascading water and panoramic backdrop of Rome, is one of the city's hidden gems. It’s a perfect place for photos and to soak in the peaceful beauty of the Eternal City from above.

Anil was out guide and it was excellent experience, I highly recommend this tour to explore city.
Anil was our guide and Mounir and Claudio was our drivers. It was a great way to see the city of Rome. Breeze was lovely and the sights were fun to see on an hour long tour.
Anil and Carlo were our tour guides and they were amazing. It is such a great way to see the city, and all the sites. We went with our kids and they loved it!
Such a fun interesting way to view the highlights of Rome. Carlo our Vespa chauffeur was very informative and pointed out all of the interesting sites and answered all of our questions. We got to see Rome from all of the interesting little back streets and from the top of Rome with a view of the whole city. We highly recommend this tour
Añil, Asim, Giovanni, Adám were great drivers and tour guides we had an awesome ride with amazing views of the Coliseum especially at night.
Disappointing experience – safety issues and no commentary. We booked a 1-hour Vespa sidecar tour in Rome through Viator, and unfortunately, it fell far short of our expectations for the price. First, the ride was extremely bumpy, and my helmet wouldn’t stay secured properly—I had to hold onto it with my hands for most of the trip, which felt unsafe. Second, there was virtually no narration. Our driver remained silent almost the entire time unless we explicitly asked what specific buildings were. The listing should have made it clear that this wasn't a guided or narrated tour. To make matters worse, when we stopped and asked to take a quick photo of ourselves in the sidecar, our driver refused and said there was "no time." Meanwhile, the driver for the other group right next to us allowed them plenty of time to pose and take pictures in their cart. We wish we had known what to expect beforehand, as this felt more like a rushed ride than a proper tour.
I would definitely recommend this tour if you are traveling with kids and want a quick experience. There is not a lot of commentary so don’t expect that, but the kids enjoyed anyways.
We had such an amazing experience and I recommend this activity to anyone that is up for a fun and adventurous ride at to see Rome! Special thanks to these guys who were very kind, responsive and attentive Añil, Yunus, Adam, Mounir
It was perfect fun with my family . Our guide Yunus was very kind, helpful and professional . I recommend for everyone !
This was a fanatic trip and worth every penny. To ride around time in an authentic Vespa really is amazing. You get to see some amazing sights. Great photo opportunity. We did this with our 10year old son and never stopped smiling. Carlo and Arsam were some friendly and they threw in some historic information.
