Versailles Palace Tour & Optional Gardens Access from Paris

Unfortunately we left an hour later with very little communication as to why we were all still standing outside on the street waiting for our bus to arrive. Meant to leave at 10am but finally left at 11am. On the bus there the guide mentioned once we get to the Palace they will confirm meeting time for departures. Once we arrived they had confirmed this would be at 3. We had to rush to be there on time and as requested, however still waited a further 20mins for others to arrive. Eventually the guide said we are leaving, however 10mins into the trip back to paris the guide makes an announcement that we are turning back to collect the others ad their guide had told them 4pm collection time. We turned back and waited another 20mins. We unfortunately lost another hour due to poor arrangements and communication which would have been valuable time that we missed in the gardens. Very disappointed

Despite a shaky start, this was a great experience that I would highly recommend. Our bus drive was about 45min late for our initial pickup, but City Wonders added that time back at the end so that our experience wasn’t cut short. Our guide Omar was AMAZING!! He was so knowledgeable and so personable and he was the real star of the show. If you have the pleasure of him as your guide, you won’t be disappointed.

This was an excellent tour of a magnificent site! Our tour guide was very talented in providing history on the royal families who resided in the palace; including sharing very interesting familial stories. Lunch options were good and we enjoyed eating out on the balcony above the courtyard. Our only disappointment was not having enough time to visit the gardens as thoroughly as we would have liked.

Wonderful tour with a very knowledgeable tour guide. We learned so many interesting facts about the serval King Louis’ and Marie Antoinette. I highly recommend.

It was too crowded with few places to sit for people who are older or have trouble walking and standing. The tour was too long. We had to skip the garden tour which we had paid for. Truly a disappointment

We had a great time. The guide was very informative and explained everything really well, and the whole experience was very well organized. It’s also possible to skip the return bus and stay longer to enjoy the gardens.

Very Good experience with the Versailles Trip. The Guide was very informative and had a nack of story telling. The lady coordinator was very helpful and clear with her communication.

Great to see the largest palace in the world and an excellent historical walk through from a highly superior guide Omar. If you can see Versailles do it with Omar he is extremely knowledgeable and personable and professional as well.

Our guide Mauro was informative, thorough, humorous and pleasant... He really put the art and architecture in historical perspective, although the crowds were awful and you can't pause for more than a few minutes before being rushed to the next room. The gardens merit a trip on their own, as they are vast and beautiful, and the separate Trianon gardens are not to be missed.

The guide in the morning bus, Clio, was delightful, but our guide inside the palace moved quickly and did not check that everyone was physically able to follow. My elderly father got stuck in the crowd past the hall of mirrors, and while I was trying to get him through, the guide moved on and we lost signal to her. Her flag was small and bent, and we weren't able to find her. We sadly missed the last half of the tour due to this. I called the City Wonders number, and while they were helpful and apologetic, they were also not able to contact the guide. Due to this, I would not recommend the tour to anyone with mobility issues or people with children. The tour guide moved way too quickly and was neglectful of the group in an extremely crowded day.
