Small tour group, good guide, but very crowded. Some other tour groups had 50 plus sized groups with a poor layout to accommodate those size groups. Multiple small rooms with 1.5m doors in between is a stampede if you’re caught by these groups. The tour left us at the gardens but our ticket also included the apartments which was a little inconvenient. Maybe offer a small group like ours the option to hand back our headsets if we wanted to continue into the apartments or continue to the gardens. Good tour overall.
Rose was awesome - knowledgeable, articulate, humorous and personable! Versailles is INCREDIBLE!!!!!
Wonderful overview of Chateau Versailles and our tour guide was knowledgeable and helpful and very friendly. I would recommend going first thing in the morning as the crowds weren’t quite so bad yet. Just be aware to get to the Trianon is either a 40 min walk (too far in 40C heat) or pay 9 euros a person for a little tram ride with an unpredictable schedule.
Dear Kendra, Thank you so much for your wonderful review and recommendation! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your Versailles Guided Tour and found your guide knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Visiting the Château de Versailles early in the morning is indeed a great way to enjoy the Palace before the crowds become heavier, especially during the busy summer season. Thank you as well for sharing your experience regarding access to the Trianon. The Versailles estate is incredibly vast, and during very hot weather, the walk can certainly be challenging. We truly appreciate you choosing Paris TRIP for your Versailles Guided Visit and hope to welcome you again on another tour in Paris! Kind regards, The Paris TRIP Team
It's really a 60 minute tour, but queuing to get in through security and moving with hordes of people. Taking same route takes 75 minutes, not the 90 minutes claimed. Tour guide was personable, knowledgable and patient with our large diverse group. Worth doing but worth booking in advance to avoid inflated last minute pricing.
Dear Kevin, Thank you very much for your 4-star review. Your feedback really matters to us, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. You are absolutely right that the duration of a Versailles Guided Tour can vary depending on the day's conditions. Security queues, crowds inside the Palace, and the overall visitor flow can sometimes affect the timing of the tour. We’re very pleased to hear that you found your guide personable, knowledgeable, and patient, especially while managing a large and diverse group. We would, however, like to clarify one point regarding pricing: our rates do not increase based on last-minute demand in the way airline or hotel prices sometimes do. Prices may vary depending on the selected date, availability, or booking platform, but we do not apply dynamic last-minute price inflation. Thank you again for choosing Paris TRIP for your Versailles Guided Tour, and we hope to welcome you again on a future visit! Kind regards, The Paris TRIP Team
The two-hour tour of Versailles Castle passed so fast! Olivia led us with lightness and humor through the palace halls. His English is impeccable and has a development that allows him to make elegant jokes. Her diction is perfect and so everything she says is perfectly understandable. Olivia has a personal style of telling history. So there were historical characters who accompanied us through those spaces and we were seeing how the Sun-King was printing its logomark through the apartments. We saw through the monarch's eyes the public ritual of waking up. We felt threatened by the other nobles, by the power dispute. The myriad of paintings, architectural objects and other works of art gain logic and structure in the graceful and informed account of our guide. She was an exime teacher for us, of those who with dexterity and lightness print indelible ideas in the memory of those who continue to want to learn, passing with vigour and enthusiasm! Louis XIV built it, Louis XV used it, Louis XVI paid it. You want to know why? Make a guided visit with Olivia. Choosing a good guide is not an easy task. The person must have the knowledge and be able to transmit it. In addition to didactics, there is the problem of language. Customers come from all corners of the world. Language is an important barrier. How do I know if the guide dominates? The French accent within the English, to the ears of a Frenchman may seem little striking. But I already had great difficulty understanding that English. To the point of losing a third of what was said. Native language assessments may be the solution. Knowledge, didactics, language mastery and the cherry cake: personality. With Olivia you guys at GetYourGuide have discovered a real jewel.
