The tour guide, MAURO, was superb. Highly knowledgeable and charming. He presented information with humor and dramatic flair. We hope that he will be our guide on all future tours in Paris.
Make sure you have the meet up point correct. Mine was random and changed as I traveled there. The pick up drop off is a little messy, but once you start the experience it’s good. The freedom is nice in the gardens and our tour guide, Jeannette, was knowledgeable and easy to understand and actively interested in what she was talking about.
Janet was an excellent guide and made every moment memorable. She was very gracious and answered all our questions.
Excellent guide, good agenda and comfy transport. There are too many things to see but our guide distilled it perfectly into 90 info-packed minutes
The meeting place is very close to a bus stop - of course, that depends on the bus line but it was for us. I think some people didn't show up. The bus was comfortable enough; it was nice to not have to deal with going on a train and having only a short walk to get to the gate for Versailles. Our guide thought he would be meeting his colleague to split up the group but that didn't happen. Still, the group was less than 20 people. We were given Vox-type boxes and an earpiece so we could always hear our guide which was great. Our guide was personable with just the right amount of humor during our tour of Versailles. Unfortunately, I forgot his name. Sorry. He was very knowledgeable. He repeatedly checked to make sure no one was left behind. After the tour, he gave us some information about the gardens and told us the meeting time for taking the bus back to Paris. We opted for take away instead of the Angelina Restaurant - much shorter line. There was a room with tables for those with take away food. It was very hot outside and I had been traveling for almost two weeks with lots of walking tours so I did not see much of the gardens. If if had researched more, I would have tried to get one of the small electric vehicles or taken the little train. However, I don't know if there was time to stand in line, get tickets, and stand in line again for the train. This has been an exceptionally hot year in Europe and I think that colors anybody's view of tours/excursions. I recommend this tour even though I couldn't make myself walk more in the gardens.
This is an amazing tour! Guide was fantastic and 10 out of 10 would even do again. Plenty of time to see everything and tour moves at a good pace despite being extremely crowded. Good amount of solo time to visit anything inside or spend the afternoon in the garden. There is an offer for a full day tour but i did not feel like we missed out on anything doing the half day. Was our favorite landmark to visit
Very busy place but with the right guide it makes all the difference.
Excellent visit. The only problem we experienced is our guide was extremely difficult to understand.
Excellent organization, the visit is done through the company GetYourGuide. You go to the indicated location, they assist you, and they assign you a guide with the group. The guide Osvaldo is a genius, he guides your visit inside the palace, and then the tour of the garden is free.
The process to get there and back was seamless and the tour with Mauro was excellent. His knowledge was exceptional, his passion for the topic and his humour were really positive. He was a great tour guide.
