Description

In high season (April through November) these tickets sell out fast – don’t wait to book! Tickets are usually available 3 months in advance. If it shows that the entire month is sold out that is probably because you are either too early…. or too late.

There were some hiccups...

There were some hiccups and stressful moments, but we did get into the Vatican museums. When we showed up, the operator said that the tickets they'd bought for us were "not scanning", and asked if we were available another day; which we were not. Ultimately he made some calls and did find some other tickets (we had to go in separately, and then meet up inside 30 minutes apart), and it did allow us to skip the regular lineup. The Egyptian guide that took us to the gate (someone else from the office, not the operator) was really kind and helpful.

Check for yourself

Don't rely on Viator to know if an attraction is open, they advertise spaces for a tour when the venue is scheduled to be closed (Easter Monday) Really helpful individual who tried his best to get us in to an earlier date but said he wasn;t connected with our tour operator. Still waiting for the refund or aven an email confirming that a refund has been processed - instead I am reminded to leave a review! Skip the line adds over £50/person but the queue would have been too long so generally I'd recommend it

Operator response

Hello unfortunately on easter monday vatican was closed. as our conversation we speak up for full refund so please be patient you will recieve soon refund sorry for inconvineance.

Vatican Skip the Line

Was perfect - I picked up the tickets with no waiting and our provider was helpful with giving us tips to make it even easier

Bad ticket experience

For the second time on this day, we did not have the tickets promised/paid for. We had to get a later entry which limited our ability to experience the Vatican. We paid extra transportation to ensure that we would have the maximum time, only to be delayed by a ticket issue between Viator and the tour operator.

Not what we had expected….

Viator didn’t get my information to the Tour Operator who did their best to accommodate us. Unfortunately we were not able to get our booked time hence only giving us less than 40 minutes in the Museum as we had another Tour booked afterwards. So our experience was not as expected as we didn’t get to see much at all. Heart breaking!! BUT overall the Vatican was breath taking.

Great option!

What would've taken us 2 1/2 to 3 hours only took 10 minutes! Yes, you go in another line, but it was honestly less than 10 minutes! Walking around the building and seeing the long lines of people waiting to enter the Vatican was discouraging until you use this service. We would definitely do it again.

Change the name of this tour.

This was a real disappointment. Instead of "Skip the Line," they should call this "Get In The Line," which is what we did. My wife and I visited the Vatican Museum on our honeymoon, and were looking forward to sharing that experience with our son. This was basically a $100 mark-up on top of the actual cost of the museum tickets. What did we get? Not really sure. A guide brought us to the line, and while he did stay until the entire group was inside, we really didn't need a guide. I was expecting we were going to "skip the line," but, we didn't, and simply waited along with everyone else. Caveat emptor.

I received a phone call...

I received a phone call saying that the time of the visit had been shifted 2 hours. I asked for an email stating that. I was told that I would receive the information by SMS. I did not receive it, so me and my family went to the ticket office at the original time thinking that it could have been a scam. It turns out that the visit had indeed been postponed and we lost 2 hours scrolling around to spend time.

Thumbs up

Claudio did a great job, but it was very busy and congested. Hard to keep together. We lost one of our party members, luckily she caught up and was able to enter St. Peter's. Claudio was very knowledgeable. Company was a little disorganized, but they came through in the end.

No skipping the line

While the Vatican deserves several days to try and see everything, we paid to skip the line and we waited in the line, so I don't know what line we were supposed to skip. While it was true we didn't have to wait in line to purchase tickets and the guide did, we were told to just hang out in front of the ticket booth while the guide waited. Also be careful when you purchase tickets, we thought we did skip the line with a guided tour, but the guide pointed us up the steps and left. Apparently we did not purchase the correct ticket.
